In kpop I don't think so, because girlgroups selling tons of albums is a very recent thing

in jpop there's a very famous story about an AKB48 fan that violated local waste disposal laws because he threw like 600 CDs in the trash :rip:

I know South Korea won't do anything because it keeps the money flowing and they love consumerism, but there really should be some kind of regulation in the photocard thing

Why? :rip:

Out of all the pollution resources the CD'S/PHOTOCARDS is the one that must be regulated?

this is like the stupid paper straw things when the majority of the pollution comes from big factories and the 1%....

Lets start by regulated Taylor's jet visits to her local starbucks and then we can talk about photocards

Where do you think these photocards are coming from and who do you think the mass buying benefits? Idols aren't taking the selfies and printing them out one by one for the love of the fans. :rip:

kpop albums *are* produced in factories owned by people in the 1%

I mean make the factories fo green (for example using renewable energy sources etc)

regulating how many photocards groups print is not the solution and cant be controlled anyway

It would be one solution cause if you make only one type for each member, it would mean people would buy less albums and toss them away to get the member they want. It won't ever happen though cause it would mean less sales.

Wack Seventeen again for me, none of their fans care for the music it's just for the photocards and getting a chance to get a fancall

I think this applies for most idols, album versions, lots of photocards and the chance of winning fan calls or fan signs are one of the strongest reasons that kpop álbum sells

I think with seventeen is more visible since they have 13 members so everything multiply by 13, just this album alone have 17 versions and if you consider that weverse version is sorted by member the total could go as high as 29 versions
