aespa originally released the music video for “Drama” on November 10, 2023 at 1 p.m. KST, meaning that it took just over 90 days to reach the milestone.

Oh wow...this is potentially big for her! I wonder if something has changed. It's airing in Japan not Korea and it's at 4AM (:dies:) but still...!

Mnet has never broadcasted anything of hers (except news articles) before and they (currently) have a good relationship with SM

Suga's solo tour numbers are so huge and he isn't even part of bts' ML

(still fully convinced JK could do stadium if he did a solo tour)

They didn't have Asian dancers in the tour? That's suprising.

This is so smooth. The choreo is amazing. :gaycat4:

They should have debuted without miss Bean from the beginning

I know she will never be able to do the Born To Be choreo, I mean you can get away with slight error in Mr Vampire but Born To Be is at millisecond precise.

They did both. They performed with YGX crew and then Kiel Tutin and the Coachella crew for the encore

The most viewed Japanese MV by a 4th gen Kpop act :clap3:SKZ, SNSD, TWICE, BTS, are the only Kpop acts having Japanese MV's surpassing 100M views I think :clap3:

a song like Drama would probably tank for an English single - it has a very harsh kpop sound that isn’t palatable to wider western audiences

look at the global crossover hits from the genre the last couple of years: none of them really have that vibe. the closest would be Blackpink songs, and they have a much larger global fanbase (and I say this as a MY vs only being an occasional BP fan). stuff like Super Shy, Cupid, Flower, Ditto, Dynamite, etc are a lot more melodic with less abrasive production.

the problem with aespa’s earlier English releases is they felt either too juvenile or dated on arrival + they didn’t really fit their brand. something like Thirsty (English ver) would’ve done much better while still feeling very aespa

I love how this song had an absurd skyrocket to Top 10 and the SECOND it reaches Top 10 it stabilizes. Sorry but it seems so fraudulent.

I don't know how TWS got into top 10 so quick, but why can't HYBE payola TXT the same way? or other labels... I can name a few groups that would love this :gaycat2:
