Yesterday I went to Seongsu for shopping and passed through a kpop pop up store it was babymonster so I decided to go in just for curiosity it had 2 floors but it was big and I'm ngl the merchandise was top notch! I loved the baseball t-shirts , hooides , and aesthetic of the place didn't bought anything but it was a nice experience and when I was leaving the staff of the entrance gave me a pepsi so I decided to give the album some streams :gaycat1:

They have a casual listener now

I'm so sad, Kpop used to make me happy but is no longer a escape

Hang in there, it might be 2012 all over again soon.

Unless it isn't.

This bop, Momoriah sounds so good, truly a vocalist :jonny4:

The way Kpop stans have been doubting whether she could sing or not or whether she could carry a solo song alone.
This song alone proves that that she need to be the next TWICE member to debut solo, cause the world needs a whole solo album from her :jonny4:@youresotoxic

Call me crazy but I think JYPig won't have any of the Japanese members' solo because they already have MISAMO. I could be wrong though. Because all three are IT girls in their own right.

Sana with a sexy siren solo ala Sunmi

Mina with demure and elegant concept

Momoriah with a dance-focused solo ala Tate McRae 'It's ok I'm ok/greedy'

:giraffe:Oh

Well ironically half of those songs were #1 on Melon at least, Savage and UP achieved PAK and RAK respectively too.

It's just the constant Circle #2s is sending me. At least Supernova broke the curse for once :clap3:

It's already earned enough points counting the ongoing tracking week to be comfortably #1. :fan:

Most talented member of NCT 127 and also the only main vocal of NCT 127 :clap3:

I wonder how much ENHYPEN member made for their non stop touring and all the endorsement job they booked

I doubt idols received lot of money from album sales and songs charted on Melon

You would be surprised at how much people can make digitally. I would imagine that most album revenue goes towards paying for the budget for videos, promo and song recording while the digital stats go to pay the members and label profits. Of course, the most profitable part for members is always going to be endorsements and brand deals.

Here's a crazy thing to look at: it's the money HYBE's subsidiary labels made. ENHYPEN is very successful in album sales and they've been touring for 400 days but NJ's digital prowess put them ahead by a mile. This is probably why they're already among the richest K-pop idols in history and they're not even halfway through their contracts.

They don't. Maybe some from album sales, but melon charting is literally just to brag about their "achievements" without anything going to the idols' pockets. The real money for idols is always in brand deals and touring.

It's not nearly as bad as it used to be. For example, a smash hit in 2012 like "Fantastic Baby" released at the height of digital single sales when they were $0.02 and selling a massive 4.036M, would bring in less than $80,720.

Streaming and much higher digital download prices have saved the digital market. For comparison's sake, Supernova is a #1 smash that's nowhere near done charting, but it's already earned over $502,000.

Basically, every 1M digital points is equal to $1,000 right now. The market isn't nearly as dependent on CFs as it used to be.

They have some of the best contracts in the game, too. They each were paid over $3.7M in 2023 alone. They are already rich enough that they could retire for the rest of their lives and they haven't even started their first tour yet.
