Speaking of RIIZE, the new transcript published today reveals that HYBE didn't hold back in criticizing Wonbin, taking jabs at his height, looks and talents  :deadbanana4:

Did they mention SNSD? I need to know before I cause Drama

South Korea has already been pushing the limits of what can be considered an "album" with the inexplicable concept of "single album" (which doesn't exist anywhere else in the world) and 6-track "albums" that in any other world would be an EP... now they're pushing the limits of what can be considered an EP

we need to come up with standards before someone gets hurt

Where did you get that from? I don't think this is true :rip:

It's a rumor that has been existed since 2023 no one taking seriously because how ridiculous it was even for myself. Come to think of it after the expose I wouldn't be very surprised if this rumor somehow end up being true because well capitalism everyone wants to own the huge profitable asset like SKZ

All companies have skeletons in their closets(JYP cult, LSM literally asking to be called korea's Godfather, YG human trafficking/prostitution accusations) but this is particularly bizarre because the idol groups are normally a front for a problem, this time the issues are actual music business practices.

Even at the bitter height of the 2nd gen SM vs YG rivalry nothing like this happened. Piggyman Bang has clearly set an exceptionally toxic culture. The Scooter Braun investment makes so much sense now. :rip:

Maybe Hybe's long-con was to drive Riize's value down to essentially zero so they could buy them out from under SM

cracked that code

Please. How did you think T-ARA's scandal blew up the way it did if not because the other companies tried to fuel the fire? And the countless stupid scandals like "Goo Hara threw a bottle", "Hyosung being a member of an alt-right forum"... and the infamous black ocean against SNSD upon their debut :deadbanana2:

I mean all of these, especially T-ARA and the black ocean can be pinned on toxic fan culture as a whole, rather than targeted interference. Let's not forget that the SM and DSP fans were literally scrapping outside of music shows during gen 1 :rip:  T-ARA had all of the newly minted global kpop fans on their neck for making the global GGs look bad, SNSD had the anti-SM weirdos AND the 2nd/3rd most powerful BG fandom against them, once backlash becomes big enough, people love joining in to be a part of tearing somebody down its basic human psychology. :rip:

I'm a VIP/Blackjack, I know a thing or two about bogus scandals :rip:

Media play has always been a huge part of kpop but considering that these companies can hardly keep a lid on the seriously heinous crimes top members are committing, something as wide-spread and as nasty as company memos dictating how to properly dominate fanwars would have leaked out over a decade ago. There's been plenty of cracks in the facade of the big 3 before that would have been a great time for whistleblowers to come forward with accusations, but they haven't to this level.

Even HYBE's business model is fundamentally different from the big 3 with their constant cycle of attracting foreign investors with their big growth, using that investment to take on MASSIVE debt to purchase competitors, and then using the revenue growth from purchases they can't afford to attract new investors. It's basically a ponzi scheme. So not to defend the JYPigs and YGlys but yes, actually the big 3 ARE different.

HYBE has an(officially reported, we now know their published numbers are full of intentional accounting errors) ENORMOUS $723m US Dollar debt. This company is fundamentally different in how it operates compared to the big 3. :rip:

For comparison reported debt figures for the big 3:

  • JYP - ~$7m
  • YG - ~$10m
  • SM - ~$88m(this tracks after a massive corporate restructuring + building out the new pd centers overnight + the buyouts)

Not relevant enough, sorry bestie

Spoiler

Just kidding :ryan3:

The report is allegedly thousands of pages, and only 20 pages have been released publicly so far, so there might be chance that SNSD might be mentioned.

You might need to prepare yourself to fight and cause drama these coming days, as more pages are getting released daily :khalyan:

Wait the HYBE numbers are even worse than I thought. How are you going to be a billion dollars in debt and your hope to pay all that back is even lower profit margins than the company that isn't relevant in the west. :bibliahh:

This is just random TikToks made by random people with barely 3K likes. Basically conspiracy theories.  HYBE never wanted to buy SKZ, let's be serious

You guys are fooling yourselves if you think HYBE is the evil agency and the other ones are benevolent. For one, the whole talking about minors' appearance is not exclusive to them, we have years of former trainees reporting how they would have their weight judged on a daily basis and receive suggestions of plastic surgeries. SM especially is well known for this practice.
