I will never buy the "this group is flopping because of bad music" excuse tbh. There have been pretty bad songs topping the charts along the years.

The problem here is the Korean GP. They stan the most shitty songs most of the time. They randomly pick one gg they want to stan for a couple of years and then drop them like a hot potato.

It's never about quality. Cosmic is THE best GG song released this year yet it didn't get any PAKs or RAKs.

I'm convinced the group they will ever truly stan as years go by is SNSD purely based on nostalgia.

Korea Stan's SNSD because they are thier Nations girl group. Not just nostalgia, they are apart of thier Pop culture on a more systemic nature then most group in Kpop… by a lot. Like Madonna or Micheal Jackson, they aren't just legends cuz of nostalgia. It's cuz they are icons.

It seems a Fan skipped Anton in the fansign in China. SM gave this girls too much power and now they are trapped with the most toxic fandom in kpop even ditching members of the same group. Armys never went this low. SM you will pay!!!!

The charts is so packed this month:

Rosè vs Karina vs Jennie vs DAY6, with aespa and Illit having comebacks in a few days as well.

And let's not forget G-Dragon who's also having a comeback this month, and he's probably going to block everyone for the rest of the year  :deadbanana4:

To think they were once called "leaders of 4th gen" :rip:

After all, JYP has failed these girls by giving them **** songs for a few years now, plus none of them have unique or strong vocals to pull off these NMIXX-esque songs, the whiny and loud vocals fit their earlier songs but now it's just irritating...

At least similar groups like Le Ssakurafim have unique and diverse vocal palates and actual topnotch songs...

Itzy nowadays is just... cute for a throwback now

The Lesserafim comparison is actually valid because both them and ITZY are performance-focused groups with the skills to match, but LSRFM has the upper hand because their music has that variety and dynamic quality that Itzy hasn't been able to carve yet. Like Itzy has tried different styles sure, but only a few of them have landed properly and the remaining have always felt like they're cosplaying someone else while still exhibiting the same qualities that they showed during their teen-crush music without much adapting. So it always looks like they're not evolving with the years they've spent in the industry even though the girls are trying their best. Their direction and concepts need to be strong and well-thought-out according to their strengths and unique colors like LSRFM.

Yeah that Rose Song is catchy and fun. It do sound like a 2008 Katy Perry Song. @Witnessed ET it's got a Hot and Cold Vibe too

Hot N cold is more dynamic imo and it has more layers than APT even though both are pop-rock... the Rose song fits that Peacock production or even Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend :alexz2:

So exactly my point.

If there's one gg they have never really dropped is SNSD. You can't deny that their most loved songs nowadays are from their earlier days, therefore there's a nostalgic factor attached to them which partially makes them the legends they are today.

Apt already giving Any Song Zico virality in Korea. Hope this can be the Pinks' first proper breakout hit in the west (OOTB doesnt count)

How is Rose song doing in America?

In fact, what's Mantra's American numbers right now?

It is clear the Pinks are trying to one up each other and I love that for them

It's interesting that both Lisa and Jennie's first solo drops post YG we're individual songs but Rose dropped a collab with a big Western star first. What was she scared of? Or was she smart getting a leg up?

Uh oh is this true?

I'm kinda mad Hard to Love is credited to Blackpink because it really elevates the quality of Rosé's solo material and even though it is her solo it is kinda forgotten because it's technically a Blackpink bside.

Yeah I don't get how it's not even written as 'Rose solo' in parenthesis, it's just Hard To Love -Blackpink.

I'm loving this new BP era with all these solos! :clap3:
The amount of music we have been getting from the BP members in 2024 alone :DWAS:

So far they have released 5 singles in 2024 alone, which wouldn't have been possible if they had stayed at YG

the variety is so good :jonny: and people dared to say all of their songs are the same (not true too tbh)

those are unfiltered streams, in fact Mantra gained streams on the chart today

and isn't TTH placement based on the amount of plays of the song coming from that playlist?

Money is pretty well known in the West though

I guess a better way to put it is that I believe APT has the potential to put Rose as a singer on the map in the west in a way that OOTB and Money didnt. But let me not speak so fast
