I feel like, from a moral standpoint, pretty much everyone can see that NewJeans will the only collateral damage as a result of this conflict, and undeservedly so, but logically very few will be willing to move against a conglomerate like HYBE in favor of a still-relatively 'rookie' group. I just wished it'd come at a time where NJ were more seasoned in the industry and could have stronger agency over their brand, with stronger resources to fight on their behalf. Exactly. The situation would be way more difficult for them if it was BTS. Not to mention that the conflict can also benefits others groups from the BIG 3 Edited September 11 by Adama
Zack Posted September 11 Posted September 11 (edited) That NJ video seems like a strategic plan from MHJ to force their exit from HYBE. I wouldn't be surprised if they start suing for termination next. As for HYBE, this is what happens when you get too greedy and try to rapidly expand too fast without doing your homework. SM had MHJ under control for a reason. But HYBE let her have all the funding and influence she wanted immediately. She was left unchecked and unsurprisingly, she started plotting against them soon after joining them. She has a big ego and wants to make her name. Why she didn't just launch her own independent company and seek investment is a mystery to me though. She must have had the contacts. She played a dangerous game with HYBE and unfortunately for them, it's the NJ girls who will suffer above all else. Edited September 11 by Zack 9 2
MonsterNavy Posted September 11 Posted September 11 newjeans should be preparing for their first full album now instead they're dealing with 50 year old fat bitter pigs free newjeans from hybe!!! 1
Joseline Posted September 11 Posted September 11 By the 25th or what? If I remember correctly, MHJ's contract ends in November. Do they want her to come back just to be CEO for 1 month? I thought that this move was an attempt to pressure Hybe into terminating their contracts so they wouldn't have to pay the steep legal/termination fees, but I've seen people theorize that they'll file for a termination lawsuit themselves on the 25th and that is a laughably bad idea. Especially since Hybe/Ador haven't failed to fulfill any contractual obligations they have to NJ. I don't know y'all, but I think arguments like they didn't greet us or they changed our CEO will not be very effective in court. 1

Like this company is so blatant with their favoritism they don't care if you're successful or not. If they don't like you, they don't like you Likely because they're already betting their resources on their NJ clone. It's clear as day that they debuted those girls for replacement purpose
wenshoo Posted September 11 Posted September 11 (edited) all this because hitman pd pet project sakkuraphim is not even half as famous as mhjeans Edited September 11 by wenshoo 1 1
Windy Day Posted September 11 Posted September 11 i'm rewatching the live and it's so funny because they literally said they didn't like how people said it was "adult business" and that they had to hide and wait when it's their career on the line and that they're directly impacted by it omg they didn't have to go off on brainless kpop stans like that 2

Magnetic was a gigantic smash and I have yet to see any ILLICIT stans or ILLICIT being mentioned in any top group conversations. They should've had a follow-up planned a while ago. What're they even up to these days? this is not to say they won't be successful but newjeans they are not 1

Yes I know all this, they also took Hitchhiker from SM too. They are a little bit obsessed. However...MHJ has been in the industry for years, she surely would have had plenty of contacts to start a truly independent company. I think she accepted HYBE's offer because she thought she could play them for their financing/investment and then break away on her own once she got what she wanted, but it all backfired. For HYBE, the alarm bells should have been ringing when MHJ started giving public interviews stating "NewJeans success is all because of me" etc. HYBE funnelled money and influence into her project. But they are also trash for the way they are treating NJ as a group. They signed their name to ADOR so they shouldn't be punishing the girls for the actions of others. As for NJ, it must be hard for them to know who to trust. They formed a close relationship with MHJ clearly, but I don't think she has their best interests at heart, in my opinion. It's all about herself. Edited September 11 by Zack 2

It's all about herself. tbh MHJ probably didn't want her own company. i believe she just wants the money and ressource from a company as hybe to fulfill her artistic vision while being left alone. at least that's what i'm getting from her. i didn't follow what happened internally because so many leaks happened and some were also probably fake (the members even talked during the live that they are scared about false informations being leaked about them and they were shocked when their old videos were leaked) so i dont know about her trying to overthrow hybe or whatever

Joseline Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I feel like MHJ has really oversold how "independent" Ador is compared to the other labels. Hybe owns 80% of Ador and the only reason MHJ has most of the remaining share is because she got a loan from the guy she's now beefing with, who is also the Chairman of Hybe. Ador wasn't some startup with Hybe as a big investor, it's a nearly wholly owned subsidiary. How quickly things have changed should show Hybe was never as "hands off" as MHJ probably wanted people to believe.

What're they even up to these days? this is not to say they won't be successful but newjeans they are not I think it's just these Kpop companies and their mindset about how disposable their artists are. Anything can be manufactured it seems. And because of that, I don't think HYBE is putting MHJ back as CEO per NJ request, they're probably just gonna bully the girls to the point where they file for contact termination and probably leave behind the name of their group like what happened to LOONA
BellKat Posted September 11 Posted September 11 The situation is so dire. People here who have not been their fans think is funny because it brings drama to the kpop spaces but I am not seeing a good outcome out of this. In the first place MHJ can not be reinstated, let's make that clear. As disgusting as HYBE is, this is literally their right. The girls may believe people were asking them to not involve themselves because they are young but in reality we just wanted them to let the old snakes fight each other so they can stay in the winning side. The age think was just an excuse I don't see a future here, if they truly want to terminate contract but your best proof of mistreatment is allegedly "ignore her", it is not going to go well. In the first place you will have to prove that ADOR failed to fulfil their contractual obligations and that includes the ADOR you have praised for years, it is going to be soooo difficult to pretend you have been contractually wronged. This is not a Givers x Attrakt x 5050 where you can credit one organisation with the "good job" whist blaming the other with "mistreatment". Here is the same company, regardless of CEO and unless the new staff genuinely has done something egregious in the one week they have been active, then it is difficult to have a case here. They won't do any wrong move from now on to protect themselves. I am so worried but I also have lost hope of a good ending. 1 4 1
