Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) Despite the controversy surrounding their Coachella performance last weekend, LE SSERAFIM will be fine; their Spotify streams, global stats, and Korean stats are still extremely good. Smart is also rising on Spotify after the performance. This situation brings to mind the backlash IZ*ONE received for outperforming TWICE, RV, and ITZY in chart performance, streaming numbers, and sales in the past. If we are going to compare this situation to a Western artist, it reminds me of how Normani is dragged despite her success and being among the best performers of her generation. Regardless of what trolls say, IVE and LSRFM are widely regarded as two of the top girl groups of their generation. But I do think a lot of the animosity towards LSRFM stems from the fact that some wish their faves had the same push and promo that HYBE gives them. Edited April 21 by Ethereal 2

Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted April 21 Posted April 21 It wouldn't be surprising if that's actually him. Fans often emulate their favourites, so Bang Chan's bullying and meltdown over Wonyoung not bowing to him every five seconds probably pushed #that user to despise girl groups as a whole. 1 1
Pluto6 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) It's 2024 and we still have gay gg stans trying to push this narrative that bg stans are the most misogynistic, when it has been concluded that gay gg stans tend to be the most misogynistic among kpop fandoms. Imagine trying push this weird narrative that I "despise ggs" just because I stan a bg, when I have been dragging all the misogynistic users in here and got them thread banned including that one user who you're just kikiing with, whose pfp is literally a pic of IU with a SJ member, and he has been using that pic to slvtshame her Edited April 21 by Pluto6 2 1
Cyanide Posted April 21 Posted April 21 I still don't understand what's going on with NewJeans, are they releasing a mini album? A Korean single? Or just a Japanese song? I'm confused im glad ILLIT is doing well because it'll make MHJ come even harder but what's with the last comeback being almost a year ago and no mini/rollout/album in sight?
Pluto6 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) Seeing how Kpop stans are still hating on LE SSERAFIM, it's just pure jealousy at this point, since they are mad that their faves aren't getting that same push. Of course they are going to use louder backtrack this time especially after the hell people have put them through the past week, and now people are complaining that the backtrack being too loud? Asscatchem Posted April 21 Posted April 21 hybe won. churn out idols quickly, don't invest in training/seeking talented idols because it's too expensive/time consuming, and reap on the corporate pipeline built off BTS as a business major i have to stan, but as a kpop stan i have to take an L considering how being good live is now too much to ask for 1

So what is the truth.. Their performance is up on YT and accessible for everyone. NJ had their performance divided into two. 1st half was live band version of 6 songs which did not have backtrack at all and they took it easy with choreo, 2nd half was Get Up tracks with full choreo, headset mics and backtrack, but loudness varied, it's easy to hear their vocals vs backtrack (ETA for example). Mind you that was NewJeans first proper performance. Their only experience being 3 university festivals and Korean music shows. Actually no one expected them to do well, but they did. People just had high expectations for LSFM and their timing was unlucky due to encore controversy. Kinda seated to see NewJeans growth with upcoming world tour. Maybe they can go back to Lolla for bigger slot after they gain experience 3

NewJeans is releasing 3 CD albums this year. May 24 — single album "How Sweet". includes Korean title track How Sweet and trilingual b-side (or you can say JP promotional track) Bubble Gum. pre-order starts April 26. Bubble Gum MV drops on April 27. June 21 - single album "Supernatural", includes title track Supernatural and b-side Right Now. This is JP album, but it is likely to include trilingual b-side and JP title track (assuming it will be like 90% English). Nobody understands what kind of roll out they are doing. The less questions I ask, the better it is. MHJ weirdly decided to link KR cb and JP debut together. It's not looking good, but I will take anything atp 2nd half of the year - new album. either EP or LP. assuming LP since they need songs for world tour. 5

ItsJustMe. Posted April 21 Posted April 21 kpop stans are grilling LSRFM even more today I blame HYBE they should've had the backing track last week as well and nobody would've cared how can the biggest company in kpoop mess up so bad

They are releasing 3 albums back to back, 2 single albums and 1 mini or full album later this year, allegedly. Pre-order for the 1st single album starts in ~1 week, with the release of the Bubble Gum MV to kick-start promotional activities. More details will be revealed then. They will certainly have some new songs for their Japanese debut at Tokyo Dome, but promotions won't be limited to Japan. The Bubble Gum song that has been airing on Japanese TV prior to the single album release is in 3 languages. 1

Coincidence or not, MHJ booking Lollapalooza instead of Coachella was a smart move, and it worked out nicely. Edited April 21 by geniecantstophypeboy 1

Instead he gave them some tryhard pots and pans noises and called it "mixxpop". SMH again, some of you are so transparent with the fake concern about NMIXX (where is the energy for the "immense talent" when it is release day?). It always sounds like the listening session (if any) didn't make it past DICE. "tryhard pots and pans noises"? really? DASH, Roller Coaster, Love Me Like This and their accompanying bodies of work are nothing like that description. they are thankfully more vocal focused aligned with clean guitar work, drumfills and instrumentation. most of the fans are satisfied with their output and the fact they would never embarass themselves while performing unlike some of the big names you were convinced to like because of MelOn positions, company numbers or whatever. 2 1
