I think they're smart enough to know they can't leave ADOR/HYBE and just expect to keep the name "NewJeans" when that trademark is owned by HYBE.

 

That would be like resigning from a company and expecting to keep the company phone, laptop, etc. Like, it wouldn't make sense and would make them entitled to take you to court if they wish. I genuinely do not think the girls have any desire to get sued. 

I wouldn't be shocked if MHJ owns a significant portion of the intellectual property.
