No :deadbanana2: What kind of chart is this btw cause even ENHYPEN are in the top 10?

SEVENTEEN are arguably the biggest active bg in Korea right now. Though Stray Kids also have a huge fanbase in Korea, but do not have the same GP support as SEVENTEEN

that's what i thought

this chart is being shared by multiple fanbases, but i wondered what the criteria were

That's the thing, a lot of "pure K-pop song" sounds dated after like 5 or so years, but it's not the case with Twice's music. During their peak, people also thought they were dated back then because they didn't ride the "girl crush" wave, which was considered a "fresher" concept than cute concepts at the time. Ironically, 90% of girl crush music produced during that era sounds very dated now. Time truly is the ultimate truth teller :dies:

That’s in part because girl crush relies on heavily dated edm and overuse of snare which has fallen out of favor with pop audiences. Say what you want about the cutesy concepts but they’ve aged better than most and will remain a K-pop staple. Also, I’d argue that pure k-pop sounds far less dated than a lot of the trend chasing K-pop. You can point to specific years recently as to what trends phased in and out of western music by what happened to K-pop and it is super apparent. Half the stuff released within the past 5 years already sounds dated and it hasn’t even been a full decade

Momo debut when

Hope she just does some high energy dance track but knowing JYP they’re gonna release some mid tempo trash to say how she’s improved as a singer or w/e

So true. Thats one of the reasons I started falling off of Kpop in late 3rd gen/Early 4th gen. That and the noise trend just was too much
