So I'm happy she has renewed as it's probably the best choice, despite some of the excessive dungeoning they did to her! It was revealed last year that she had "renewed" sometime in 2021, but this press release hints that it was maybe for longer than the standard 3 year extension. We don't really know since SM hasn't confirmed details directly like they have for Irene now. Usually we see news mentioning all the members. What I think is that they all "renewed" in 2021 (Yeri in 2022) for a 3 year extension until this year. Though SM never announced it at the time. SM revealed in the media that Seulgi had "renewed" in 2021 last year possibly due to speculation and/or maybe damage control to distract from EXO contract issues. But either Seulgi's contract will be up for renewal again (since it's almost 3 years since the last renewal) or she agreed to a longer extension. We don't have details on that yet. As for Wendy, Joy and Yeri...simply nothing has been said, but Wendy and Joy have openly criticized SM lately. News about Irene appeared last year which suggested she was planning NOT to renew. Whether that was leaked by SM to put pressure on her or maybe even vice versa to force SM to offer a better contract...we can't be sure but it's interesting that a few months after that news...she's renewed.
