It's the 10th anniversary of 9/30, Jessica's involuntary removal from SNSD

To mark it, I'm posting this mythbusting Q&A, to cut through all the lies and the unnecessary demonization of Jessica.

1. Jessica wanted to leave SNSD or was planning to leave in 2014

There is no evidence of this at all. Not only is it refuted in Jessica's statement, but in SM's statement, their timeline that she told them in Spring 2014 she was planning to leave after "1 more album" doesn't add up. Mr. Mr. was released in Spring 2014, she didn't leave afterwards. After Mr. Mr, she was part of the Japanese album The Best in Summer 2014, was originally going to appear on the Catch Me If You Can single album for Tokyo Dome in October 2014 and had recorded a unit mini album with Krystal, due for release by end of 2014...so which album was she leaving after...? Exactly. Not to mention, her contract at SM had only just been "renewed" in August 2014 until 2017. She showed no plans of leaving.

2. SM was against her business and they removed her because of it

There is no evidence that SM was against her business. A Dispatch article posted on the day of the incident (but mysteriously deleted within 1 hour) stated that she paid royalties to SM to launch the brand and received authorization from SM. Jessica's statement also stated that she received permission from SM to launch the brand twice. SM also never denied this. Looking at the actions after her exit (from the group and later SM), SM continued to allow their idols to wear/use her brand (f(x), Red Velvet, aespa, NCT have all been pictured with Blanc & Eclare pieces) and even feature on her brand's social media. They even allowed Irene Kim, a model signed to SM to collaborate with the brand. This collaboration was even promoted on SMTOWN's website years after Jessica left the company. If they were against her business, this would never have happened. There is no evidence SM ever had an issue with the business or kicked her out because of it.

3. She was missing schedules and not committed to the group

There is no evidence of this. Soshified (still) has SNSD's calendar for 2014 accessible showing all the group and member activities. Jessica was present for all planned group activities in the weeks/month leading up to her removal, whereas other members (such as Sooyoung) were not. There is no evidence that she missed practice schedules, nor has SM ever mentioned her doing this.

4. She was leaving to get married/go to design school/pregnant/giving up on idol life/quitting at Tokyo Dome

These are obvious lies spread through suspicious news articles which quoted unnamed "insiders", none of which have shown to be true and were designed to ruin her image. Considering we now know SM has actively paid agencies to plant stories in the media, go figure. SM would also not host a "farewell" for a Korean member at a Japanese concert. This is purely lies and speculation which are not true. Her unit album with Krystal was planned for release after Tokyo Dome. She was not leaving the group. Nor would SM let her just walk out of one of their most successful groups, with no contract penalties.

5. The members didn't know about her business/had nothing to do with her removal

These are obvious lies. Tiffany is seen stating (in English) at KCON 2014 that all members would be focusing on solo/unit activities, including "designing" whilst pointing at Jessica. They all knew about her brand. On whether they had nothing to do with her removal, the deleted Dispatch article stated that the members changed their position and put pressure on Jessica to quit the business after she had prepared the launch. This lines up with Jessica's statement and even SM acknowledges there was a "conflict". If SM had no issue with her launching a business and Jessica had no plans to leave the group, there is only one other logical conclusion about how the situation which forced her removal could have been created. The members. Reports from Chinese SNSD fansites as early as September 28 2014 started revealing that Jessica was being "iced out by her teammates" and fansites were being lied to by SM staff that she was "sick" and not coming to the planned fanmeeting in Shenzhen on 9/30. These fansites were not fooled and knew the situation was because of the members. At the fanmeeting, fans continually screamed Jessica's name, but the remaining members said nothing at all.

Following her removal, Jessica posted on Weibo, confirming that she wasn't "sick" and had in fact been forced out of the group, just for starting a business.

The group cruelly abandoned her and the company punished her for speaking her truth by launching a campaign of fake news (which her former fandom helped to spread around) and blacklisting which has continued over a decade.

There have been many lies and much abuse, but fortunately, in the end Jessica survived.

The way we can't even completely enjoy the thought of SM's NGG being OT9 without the fear of someone getting kicked out eventually; the trauma is so real a decade later

The original article which was suppressed and deleted within an hour of posting. The details has never been disproven or contradicted, even to this day.

Fans call Jessica's name at a fanmeeting in Shenzhen on the day she was forced out.

She had been in transit to China to attend this event but was cruelly excluded.

9 years later, she finally appeared to fans in Shenzhen, (ironically) to represent luxury fashion house Givenchy.

Streets saying New Girl Group Reveal is in November. Yall think they will do what they did for EXO Debut? For any of my 2nd Gen/ Early 3rd Gen Stan's that remember when SM dropped literally 12,000 Teasers :rip:

But imagine if they drop a debut like History or Into The New World :jonny6: The Culture Reset.
