They are so timeless. Like still sound immaculate today even with headphones cause with some 2nd gen bops, you can kinda hear they're crunchy because of the technology back then but Miss A's titles were produced so well :jamming:

Does anyone actually dislike NJ's Get Up? What are those people hearing that is so different from what everyone else around the world is hearing?

Everybody is promoting their music on Tiktok. Your favs aren't doing any less Tiktok music than anybody else, whatever that means. :celestial3:

I mean the structure. My talented faves has bridges, more than 2 minutes duration and still basically "Kpop" :matty:

Why is it important if a song has a bridge or a high note or a rap, as long as the song is good? :celestial5: If you mean their music takes a departure musically from what we used to hear in 3rd gen, I would agree. Even then, there was Kpop music before 3rd gen. It's no less Kpop than a lot of other Kpop music. Kpop takes its influences from many genres from all around the world, it never had a distinct sound and likely never will. It's always evolving.

Oh wow not Nmess being discarded like that :dies:

This is even worse than the Itzy situation because at least itzy had a few hits and smashes in their belt before they were sidelined.

Lily and friends are too talented to deserve this

edit: ok but I don't get the dislike @jqnetto

it was the fake concern about NMUSES for me!

While Kpop does sure took influences from different genres but for the majority of it's run. The genre cultivated the image and sound of being so out there :celestial5:

That said none of the songs of Get Up album are good imo especially comparing it and coming from such a strong debut.

and like I haven't mentioned they make me sleep like.... a lot, truly in tuned with the current state of mainstream music  so yeah that answers your question

I feel like a lot of groups lost the plot in their research for more maximalism, the switch was inevitable. Have you actually tried listening to NJ music while sleeping? Just curious. You say it like it's a bad thing but if you sleep well, that's good. :foxaylove3:

I love LSRFM but I do think they need something like a World Tour first before doing the Coachella. Mental and stamina just weren't there for them yet.

I watched IVE last Feb for their tour and ngl, I was ready for some bad vocal but they proved me wrong. Liz of course effortlessly slayed but Yujin, Rei and surprisingly, that toddler Leeseo really impressed me with their singing. Even Gaeul & Wonyoung were not as tragic as Eunchae/Sakura/Kazuha at Coachella :celestial5:

Kpop stans have grown indifferent to many Kpop achievements over the last few years. Illit bagging a hot 100 and likely a PAK and nobody is moving. :bam: Same goes with brand deals. I remember when NJ Hanni 1st got announced as Gucci global ambassador or when Ditto entered the hot 100, it was a big event. That was only over a year ago. A lot has changed. :gaycat4:

I mean, it was an uncertain time for Kpop and its future, with BTS going on hiatus and Blackpink slowing down. Many wondered if Kpop had peaked, if BTS and Blackpink were an outlier. Then came NJ. Then many other groups also achieved new milestones. Now it seems like everyone has become accustomed to the new generation doing well and striving and it's the new normal, with every new achievement becoming less impressive than the one before it. All in the span of 2 years. :bam:

these "achievements" only matter when it happens to big relevant groups like BLACKPINK, newjeans, aespa etc especially when its BLACKPINK

no one is gagging if ILLIT or babymonster snatches every single newjeans or blackpink record

thats the harsh truth
