Skz being so popular in Japan despite not having a single Japanese member :clap3:

It's simply the power of a group full with Otakus I fear :clap3:

Hope to see them doing more OPs/EDs for animes

In the US, they have done Lollapalooza, Billboard Women Music awards and New Year Eve, but no official promotion. No english release, no interview, no tv show, no collaboration. :michael: I'm not even sure if they spent more than a few days in the US yet.

i just searched newjeans english interview and found like 6 :deadbanana: how is that not promo

and their songs are like %80 english anyways

all the things you mentioned are literal examples of targeting US

not saying there is anything wrong with it but to act like they are not focusing there is just false

They are flops compared to Twice, that's all that matters. :celestial4:

Godpink was never a flop in Japan. They were always well known and supported by casuals. The thing is that they've never built a strong big fanbase there due to the dumspter fire that is their japanese career.

Your new pfp is nice.

Those interviews are from the same events I mentioned.

We expected them to take advantage of Getup and Lollapalooza success by releasing an English album and promoting in the US like other groups, but MHJ chose to debut in Japan instead :michael:

thank you :-*

does it really matter if those interviews were done around the same time as those events though :skull:

and they did english promotions outside of these events that you mentioned

Spoiler

whether these were shot in united states or not, the target audience is still US

+ all their peers had their japan debut already (sans aespa) so it's the right time for them

They don't ignore the US, but they also haven't put the same time and effort as they have done elsewhere.

NJ promotion cycles aren't short, they span over months and really feel like eras. They promoted Getup on Korean music shows for almost 2 months straight, when other groups promote for a couple weeks. And they also do many side quests on Korean TV, Radio and elsewhere.

I expect Japanese promotion to be similar, it's going to be big, long and eventful.

They haven't done promotion on that scale in the US yet. Maybe next year.

The way HYBE now has:

  1. BTS
  2. SVT
  3. TXT
  4. ENHYPEN
  5. LE SSERAFIM
  6. NewJeans
  7. TWS
  8. ILLIT

All dominating   Can we now officially say that we are in the HYBE monopoly era? :suburban:

Spoiler

Too Soon. You forgot they are trying to buy SM. :suburban:

Girl, they are already bigger than SM, JYP and YG combined right now, like I think that the monopoly has indeed started:suburban:

HYBE is not a music label. They should be compared to Kakao or Dreamus instead

It's kinda funny how they literally listed events will millions of viewers and a festival with tens of thousands of attendees as "no promo" :deadbanana4:

The way SM marketed them as "The avengers of Kpop" as if BTS were Thanos and the villains of Kpop, and how this new supergroup were going to fight off BTS or whatever
