Megan Thee Stallion - where did it go wrong?

At one point, it felt like she was EVERYWHERE and now it seems like no one is checking for her? All her recent efforts made no noise (Bongos, Cobra, Not My Fault) and her last album was forgettable. What went wrong?

Awful label, not the best single choices, and the case definetly hurt her public image.

Besides all that, Something For Thee Hotties and Traumazine slap, and Cobra ate while being her first independent release, so let’s not

Bongos was a flop but the other two? Cobra was not made for radio/replay value and the other is a song by an unknown pop girl that she features on...was it suppose to do much?

The tiiktok kids moved on to the next rap girl. But I remember 2020 she was everywhere

Cobra was her highly anticipated comeback single after the Tory fiasco - there was hype for her especially after she was teasing the whole snake theme as part of her comeback for a while on IG so radio/replay value is not an excuse :sorry:

She offended the TikTok kids by saying that they were 15 if they used Spotify

Cobra was never going to stick with the GP just like Last Time I Saw You. 🤷

The very album LTISY is on is about to sell more in it's 3rd week than Traumazine did in it's first week, so let's stay on topic and keep Nicki out of this

On that note, Cobra is BY FAR the better song out of the two, yup!

I kind of forgot that she existed to be honest. Nothing she did really stood out aside from WAP (feature) and a couple of other songs she put out as singles or featured on. If you’re going to have longevity as a female rapper you need to have something that sets you apart from the others and/or some amazing singles. I didn’t even know she released or was on any recent singles as well which sounds like a non supportive label.

a soundtrack single released during the height of Christmas music was doomed from the start

still, she’s accomplished quite a bit in just a few years, and I’m excited to see what she does next without the shitty label holding her back

She just needs to switch it up. She’s legit one of the only female rappers who just refuses to evolutionize her music

She sounds the same on every song.

to be fair tho so do most male rappers

Her label really did her dirty when she’s starting to get more mainstream exposure and the same sex bops as singles strategy ain’t helping. :deadbanana2:

Her voice is too monotonous honestly, I want to love her but she’s such a boring listen after a few songs

I’d like to think that her next album will perform better. She still has a grip on social media and a solid touring base so I doubt that she’s completely over.

Her music got boring quickly. I don't even remember the last time I listened to her.

i mean she’s doing great for an independant artist and she was never that big out of the 4 main rap girls tbh…

since good news she hasn’t dropped a project that is really for the gp, like nobody is gonna go shake ass to traumazine

but i like how she’s not giving up her artistry for streams, her projects have just been getting better and better
