Someone on the level of stardom like Taylor has a lot of power to influence the public. I am doubtful of any celebrity being persuasive enough to sway people to vote a certain way. I doubt anyone is going to say, "Wow, Taylor is Team Biden! That changes my feelings towards how he's handled the Palestinian genocide, how he's refused to stand up for trans people in the wake of their rights being stolen, and everything else!" No doubt that Taylor Swift has a lot of power. She's got a lot of power to push people to register to vote. But we are farrrrr too polarized for any celebrity to make a dent in how people feel. 2
Yoko Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 biden’s status amongst his key demographic is horrible taylor swift isn’t going to change ****

A lot of straight white Americans don’t care about that stuff though. The economy is still the US most pressing issue. Older gens hate Biden too. Younger people think they’re saving humanity voting for him. We’ll see, I really think it’s 50/50. I think Taylor is smart enough not to endorse anyone, but honestly, I was shocked she endorsed the LGBT community back in 2018 so who knows.

Biden is at an all-time low with young voters specifically because of the genocide Biden is financially supporting with our tax dollars. Nothing Taylor says is going to do anything to ease people's disdain for Biden continuing financial support for a literal genocide. 9
Archetype Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 (edited) She's not going to endorse any candidate even though we all know she'll vote for Biden. I don't blame her, no one deserves her endorsement and the media pleading for her to use her platform to do so is really pathetic at this point. He wouldn't need her endorsement if he wasn't using our tax money to directly fund genocide. It was bad enough that his student loan plans mostly failed, but this war is just not acceptable to younger demographics. He and his team must know this is severely going to damage his chances of getting re-elected, and yet they don't seem to be doing anything to stop this. Edited December 26, 2023 by Archetype
TaggedGalaxy Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Hopefully she's smart enough not to do this

OT: I hope she doesn't give in. Biden doesn't deserve her endorsement. Delusion
Strawberry Bubble Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Almost everyone hates Joe Biden right now, I don't think she would take the risk, and it wouldn't make any significant change, actually.
Maroonx Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 I hope she doesn't... Even if she did, I don't think she can sway people to support him. I mean, I would only vote for him if it's him vs trump... coz in the end of the day you have to pick the lesser evil.
Billionaire Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Democrats really think the whole celebrities openly endorsing Biden thing will work again like it did in 2020, you just have to laugh
Eat The Acid Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 They really think Taylor will trot around the country endorsing genocide and waving the new Nazi Israel flag? Laughable!
Asscatchem Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 imagine kidding yourself thinking thee taylor swift has no power over enhancing the image of whoever she endorses especially now 2
Maroonx Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 What the media should focus on is getting celebs to tell Biden NOT TO RUN IN 2024!!!!! The 2024 elections will be another horrible **** show with two unfit people running. Trump Vs Biden... Just a nightmare 1
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted December 26, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted December 26, 2023 Ah yes, the elusive Taylor Swift effect that helped elect Phil Bredesen. This is just trolling for clicks. What Biden needs to win re-election is to appeal to educated suburbanites who actually vote, not teenagers. 1 2

It is delusional if you think any celebrity endorsement is going to sway people in the hyper-polarized political hellscape that is the United States. There is literally no evidence that celebrity endorsements help in any way. No young person is going to forget about their feelings about a Biden-funded genocide, his failure to raise minimum wage like he promised, his failure on student debt relief, and their economic hardships because of a billionaire pop star. 1
beautiful player Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 She needs to, yes. However, it's not as simple as endorsing him She needs to use her ability to shape/build narratives to either portray Biden in a better light (i.e. bring voters towards him), or coerce him into shifting positions on contentious issues in a way that is more favourable to the leftist populace. Addressing left's inability to conjure up unified and coherent messaging is where she can really add value as a political powerhouse. 1

Sweeftie13 Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 I was thinking, if she didn't openly support any political candidates, would Republicans stop attacking her or even start listening to her music like they used to do in Taylor's country phase?
