Shannen Doherty reveals she was fired from Charmed; Alyssa threatened to sue

So muchnwe learned on Shannen's podcast and so much ti unpack.

I'm glad we finally know the details to what led to Shannen'a firing.

I would love for Alyssa to say her part, though I am sure she's the troublemaker. There's a reason all 3 of the other actresses had a fallout with her.

Listening to this perhaps they should have documented all the times they felt uncomfortable and built a case like Alyssa lol

Does any of these women have anything else going on in their lives

She is terminally ill with cancer talking about this nonsense and acting like she was such a saint back then. I hope she finds peace and moves on.

Exactly I love Shannen and Prue but she wasn't exactly a saint like you said she didn't earn her reputation of being difficult to work with for no reason.

She definitely ain’t a saint. She is a Diva and has admitted to it. But Alyssa is a pretty horrible person in general so it’s not surprising that it’s true

I'm honestly shocked that people try to paint Alyssa as the bad guy because she went to see the corporate mediator. That's a totally common thing to do in these type of situations and, like you've said, Shannen could have done the same. But instead she refused to see him.

I listened to the full thing and the way these 2 ladies are so far up each other's backsides is crazy, they're literally on tape admitting that Alyssa had enough evidence of the workplace environment being toxic and instead of adressing that, they blaming her for collecting the evidence and trying to sue. Unhinged behavior :deadbanana2:

This. Funny thing is that few years ago they had a huge fight themselves :deadbanana2:These ladies can't get along with anyone it seems.

We’ve known bits and pieces of this from back in the day when it was happening (it was well documented over at TWoP) but it’s the first time Shannen talks about it herself. We also didn’t know anything regarding Holly. I was always curious about her stance being that she was super close to Shannen. Julian McMahon was dating Shannen at the time too.

I remember the rumor of Alyssa giving an ultimatum to the producers/studio of having Shannen fired or her and Brian Krause would leave, but after all of this I believe it now

Did Alyssa said anything about Charmed/Shannen in her book?

Overall, it’s a shame. It seems everything steemed because of jealousy but I’m glad to learn everybody behaved profesionally on set. I honestly blame Brad Kern (showrunner) for everything tbh. He was a pig, didn’t know how to deal with the drama and had the worst ideas ever (mermaids, Billie, canning Brian Krause).

I haven't read it but apparently she said a few sentences and said she won't talk about it anymore (in the book). Nothing about Shannen but Shannen thinks she talked about her and didn't read it cause the title is "Sorry Not Sorry" :deadbanana2:

Alyssa herself said there were days they wouldn't exhange a word with Shannen on set with the two friends having a highschool stance towards her. They both made fun of that statement on a panel few years ago by shading Alyssa that she's never been to highschool yet they claim there was never any issue during tapings and they don't remember any drama happening in front of the crew :deadbanana2:  They can't make up their minds on what exactly went on or they have severe trouble recalling past events :rip: They've always been shady on conventions so i find really hard to believe the onset relationship wasn't messy. They very much shaped their characters into what they are like in real life, with Piper becoming the true source of all evil past season 5.

All i know is that as soon as Shannen was out of the picture, Alyssa was first on the credits , lmao.

Because Holly Marie Combs wanted the starring credit from what I read, and it made no sense to list Rose McGowan first, so by default Alyssa Milano received it.

That's not quite true. They said that Alyssa kept documenting every time she would feel a certain way or uneasy and said that none of what happened was in front of the cameras where people could see them. It was in their trailers or behind the scenes in general. Shannen specifically says that she spent a whole year trying to remember if she did or said anything wrong to Alyssa and she couldn't.

Alyssa was just mad and jealous about tbe pay gap and the magazines.

She didn't actually. The producers gave it to her to differentiate from the other actresses. It was like a tribute to her

My point still stands though if the evidence Alyssa had was deemed good enough to make a strong case then clearly they were in the wrong as well and not just these saints they're trying to portray as. Just because Shannen doesn't remember doesn't mean it didn't happen especially when theres documented proof.

all women seemed insufferable to begin with, especially proven when the Charmed reboot happened and Holly, Alyssa and Rose just made sure to tear down those women of color with every chance they got... they haven't really grown up

I'd say Shannen did bc of her health issues but Holly, Rose and Alyssa still sound like divas to this day.

Alyssa and her mom sound like horrible people.

Actually not surprised tho, Alyssa has always come off as extremely selfish to me

Team Shannen. All the way.

When you think about it… the actors really reflect their counterparts. Shannen is exactly like Prue in real life - honest, professional, and a sweet side that’s been overlooked over the years. She’s finally receiving her moment. Holly is obviously the mediator, stuck between a rock and a hard place, desiring normalcy around her. Alyssa is like Phoebe - abrasive, immature, egotistical (me, me, me! Look at me!), lack of self-respect, and selfish. She believes she’s still the star of the show. She’s literally the Power of One at Comic Con recently. Lol

Charmed season 1 was always my favourite, the tone gradually changed afterwards and drastically declined starting with season 4, so everything she says about it becoming more male-dominated makes a lot of sense. I loved the Practical Magic vibe of season 1, but when it became gimmicky and they started making them wear sexy outfits in like season 5, it just wasn’t the same show. I would love to go back in time and see how Constance M. Burge’s version of the show would’ve played out.

I also think it’s admirable that they all still show the show so much love and want to do a reboot. They don’t have to all be best friends, Shannen is only sharing this now to get everything off her chest while she still can.

Although tbh I did get odd vibes at times, Shannen is clearly the dominant one in their friendship. I don’t believe Shannen would’ve put her career on the line if Holly was the one being fired. I feel like Holly feels kind of indebted to Shannen for getting her on the show and Shannen enjoys having that power over her

That's what they wore in season 2? Did you not see the amount of inappropriate work outfits Prue wore to Bucklands?

Same thing.  The WB was replaced by The CW, which Warner Bros still had partial ownership (C for CBS Corporation and W for Warner Bros).
