HANZ94 Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Charmed was **** after Prue died anyways so Shannen won by leaving during their peak 1 1
Lorelei Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 (edited) If i recall correctly, Shanned stated a few years ago she was thinking of quitting Charmed because she gets tired of playing the same role for years and she wanted to do something different so perhaps she was not going to continue whether they fired her or not. I don't think she would have stuck around when they started introducing fairytale elements or when stupid baby shenanigans became the main plot of the episode. The story about the wages is the same with every big show, like SATC. These things always lead to tension and arguments which eventually create problems within the cast. All i know is that as soon as Shannen was out of the picture, Alyssa was first on the credits , lmao. Edited December 18, 2023 by Lorelei 1

It’s unfortunate that Shannen was wrongfully portrayed as the “problem” for why the show let her go. I think it is absolutely wrong that Alyssa has never spoken up and set the record straight over the years. She is a very prideful and hypocritical person. I like Shannen’s idea of getting blown up by Piper for a more epic death, but it would actually be better for Piper to blow Phoebe up.

It was partially Phoebe's fault for choosing to go to the underworld and leaving her sisters without the power of three when Shax attacked them. They could have leaned to that by making Phoebe experience remorse and guilt but it was swept under the rug in season 4 and they chose to center the season around the Queen of the Underworld bs storyline.

AmericanIdol Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 I'm here for a continuation. I think it could be successful like "Just Like That..." & SATC.
XtinaStripped Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 I think if it continued, Phoebe should sacrifice herself to bring Prue back somehow. 😂

barbiegrande Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 (edited) All this drama for a show that wasn’t even that good. Even in its prime, Charmed always felt like a guilty pleasure that only lasted as long as it did because the WB was such a flop network. Even shows like Buffy, Smallville, and Supernatural feel more timeless Edited December 18, 2023 by barbiegrande 2 1 1 4
xluvxduffxmusicx Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Kinda juicy tbh. But I am very curious on what Alyssa’s version of events are.

madonnafan18 Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 I'm thankful Shannen has spoken about this in great detail. I got emotional when Holly talked about how she was forced to stay with the show and how difficult it was to cope with the threat of a lawsuit towards her. I know Alyssa will still stay silent, but I believe it would be helpful for her to share her perspective of what happened.
Totami Legend Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 just bring back the original trio without alyssa.

It was Paige who usually had a meaningful storyline going on but it would always end in the same episode because the show was focusing so much on whether Leo spends enough time with his family or if Phoebe will find the love of her life while ignoring fighting evil, i say that as a former Phoebe fan back in the day. MilanY Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 all I will say, there was the reason this woman was fired from far better and bigger show, Beverly Hills, 90210. SHE was nightmare to work with.
Klarth F Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 We’ve known bits and pieces of this from back in the day when it was happening (it was well documented over at TWoP) but it’s the first time Shannen talks about it herself. We also didn’t know anything regarding Holly. I was always curious about her stance being that she was super close to Shannen. Julian McMahon was dating Shannen at the time too. I remember the rumor of Alyssa giving an ultimatum to the producers/studio of having Shannen fired or her and Brian Krause would leave, but after all of this I believe it now Did Alyssa said anything about Charmed/Shannen in her book? Overall, it’s a shame. It seems everything steemed because of jealousy but I’m glad to learn everybody behaved profesionally on set. I honestly blame Brad Kern (showrunner) for everything tbh. He was a pig, didn’t know how to deal with the drama and had the worst ideas ever (mermaids, Billie, canning Brian Krause).

The Slayer Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Loved listening to this, Alyssa is trash. We need the real power of three: Prue, Piper and Paige
Frozen99 Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 they really do deserve an oscar because i had NO idea sth like this was happening bts... i'd die for a tv movie or sth just to see the characters again and where they at but that'd be a miracle. alyssa sounds like a c u next tuesday, would love to hear her side on it but as others mentioned, her getting the top billing once shannen was gone is telling. 1 hour ago, Klarth F said: We’ve known bits and pieces of this from back in the day when it was happening (it was well documented over at TWoP) but it’s the first time Shannen talks about it herself. Then drop Alyssa? read the full summary, alyssa was building a case for herself to sue the company.
MasterXPosed Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 This Is a really sad situation overall. While I think they'd benefit from all talking, at least the original three I think Shannen was also fired for being a perfectionist, and as mentioned not liking where the show was headed. It was easy to use that on her as means to fire her along with Alyssa as they said In this episode. "It's been done before with 90210, and they can do It again" Shannen was always the reason why Charmed had some of It's best episodes In the first three seasons. I'm a huge Charmed fan, but after S5 and even S5 was very flawed the show never returned to what It was. Charmed always had an identity crisis with what It wanted to be. S1 had a very gothic horror theme which I wish the show kept, but S2/S3 became a Buffy clone, especially with Cole and Phoebe. Tho those seasons are my favorite, and the most comforting to me to watch. S4 as well at times. S5 becoming a fairytale season, and It getting worse with Magic School and becoming a Harry Potter clone. I think Piper was the best character overall, and Paige's storylines were always put on the sidelines. She never really got a chance to shine after her introduction. Also Shannen Is one of the nicest people I've ever met, and I talked about It In a thread before. I think her cancer battle, and the stage 4 diagnosis she'd have no reason to lie. Tho I know things can be forgotten, I would be Interested In hearing what Alyssa had to say If she ever spoke. But I don't believe one second Alyssa wasn't the mastermind In this whole thing. The show become "Phoebe's love life" which I never enjoyed.
Elvenpath Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 It's a shame Shannen had to leave because of Alyssa. She should have left the show instead. 1
