She's very interactive with her fans. She's always tweeting them and doing lives. Justin Bieber use to be the same in the early days. It's a good way for fans to feel like they're your friends and when fans feel like you are their friends then they feel more loyal to you. Taylor has also done a great job at making her fans feel like her friends but in different ways.

Unlike other established artistes that retreat to the background when they break into the mainstream, Nicki has consistently maintained a relationship with her fans through social media. 
 

3. Unabashed personality

 

Some people hate this and some people love it. She’s real and speaks her mind, even if her opinion is a controversial one. She doesn’t bow down to SJW ideals and the fans accept that she’s a human being with real emotions. There are complexities one cannot fully appreciate because you don’t live in her shoes. 

 

4. Hater base 

 

Her huge pool of haters is ironically what sustains her fan base too. Fans love to see Nicki win against all odds - it’s like rooting for the underdog despite all of the hate. So keep hating because that’s actually what’s going to sustain her for as long as she wants.

what do you mean 'how'? you must not be familiar with who Nicki Minaj was before she became the Nicki Minaj the world knows her as today. she always had a fanbase and that fanabse was loyal from the get go. she always had talent and along with that that talent, she had range and ability to adapt and while adapting to trends she has excelled and broke records in the process. it was inevitable that her fanbase would grwo incredibly and be even more dedicated.
