Definitely The Vajont Dam disaster.

It happened in the 60s, so it was a long time ago, but I live in a valley surrounded by dams and sometimes my paranoid ass is really triggered by that :gaycat6:

I worked right by the WTC this past year and it’s eerie walking around and seeing some locations that I recognize in the videos people took on 9/11. There’s a hotel I used to sit in front of if I got to work a little early and later on realized it was the same corner as one of the videos I’ve seen before of an old man falling when the 2nd plane hit

That gay club massacre in Orlando  :mazen: Seems everyone forgot about that

I remember reading the news story and bursting into tears. That one really hit me.

Nothing will ever compare to the shock of 9/11 happening in real time. It literally felt like the entire world just stopped. Watching the World Trade Center collapse on live TV was absolutely terrifying.

The images of what happened on 9/11 are still absolutely insane and surreal to see even all these years later

Common answer but 9/11. Just because I was so young (preschool, I remember my teachers gasping at the TV and we were picked up) so I kinda caught a glimpse of how much life changed, but not fully as I wasn’t an adult. It’s just so crazy watching the footage and hearing stories, it really feels like a movie but it impacted so many people’s entire lives and our whole comprehension of the world (in the West) in an instant.

Covid obvi

But also every time a teacher gets brutally beheaded by muslims for speaking bad about Muhamed. The brutality of the act and the blatant attack on free speech is devastating.

The fact that the ones responsible for this have campaigned for presidency is just :pukey:
