Whenever Wherever, Underneath your Clothes and Objection were all big, but everything else has been duets or features or only local hits.

Big where? :skull: She’s always been local only in Colombia.

No. I love Shakira though. :heart2:

Love Shakira and her longevity is incredible but none can be compared to Madonna.

Madonna is still touring while Shakira is vacationing in Miami and delaying her album and tour for as long as possible.

Shakira domination : 90s-2000s-2010s-2020s (Still charting with english and spanish singles) = 4 decades of domination
Beyonce domination 90s-2000s-2010s-2020s = 4 decades of domination
Madonna domination : 80s-90s-2000s-2010s-2020s (Really strong album wise and Tour wise great numbers)  = 5 decades of domination
Taylor Swift domination : 2000s-2010s-2020s = 3 Decades of domination

Madonna is clearly the winner here :giraffe:
5 Decades of power and still moving and breakin boundaries.

I dont if yll realize but Shakira is also a Madonna fan since childhood.
She's one of her biggest female influences with Donna Summer

Shaki talkin about how majestic is madonna (Spanish)

When Celebration Tour is done it will gross $250M. Can Shakira earn even 100?

No. Shakira is just a better trend hopper and thief. Every single one of her hits since the last decade have been collaborations/features.

Yeah, Madonna hasn't been relevant since the 90's

Shakira has been consistently getting successful singles and albums since 1995 (28 years)

Madonna lasted from 1983 to 2009 (26 years)

Of course Madonna is way more successful overall but is Shakira officially the new queen of longevity? Discuss.

Madonna has one of the highest grossing tours of all time in 2012 so she lasted 29 years though

Because she didn’t report most of her shows. Only 190/ 420 shows were reported.
She’s the first among her peers to gross over 100M on tour mind you

I'm sure that everyone who drags Shakira because of her tour numbers next year will eat their words

If Shakira was successful in 1996, then Madonna was successful every year of her career :deadbanana:

She was successful hun

Selling over a million copies in Brazil, Colombia, US and probably Mexico (wait for her certification update). Some artists don’t even have a million sold record outside of US and UK.

Can we stop pretending MDNA was this huge flop? 2012 Madonna was getting Golden Globes, she had a record breaking super bowl half time show that paved the way to y'alls faves, did the 2nd biggest female tour ever at the time and MDNA still managed to sell over 2M copies WW :rip:

Madonna was 54 back then.

The desperation to be a victim. We all know you’re only pretending to support Shakira because the Lady Gaga stan in you hates Madonna :lmao:

PD sold 3.7M and Thieves sold 4.38M. But we’re arguing that Madonna has no longevity because her 11th album American Life did 3.375M, COADF did 9.325M, Hard Candy did 3.65M, MDNA did 1.85M, Rebel Heart did 900k and Madame X did ~200k. And that’s ignoring any TEAs/SEAs for Madonna.

I didn’t say she wasn’t successful. I said that if you consider a first studio album selling 3.7M to be a sign of longevity, then how can we exclude a 12th studio album selling 9.325M and say that’s not successful?
