Renaissance WT Movie struggles badly overseas, opens with 5.5M (official)

This is so stupid.

Both tour movies are making only around 20% of their gross overseas.  Both are extremely domestic heavy.

Yes, Taylor's movie is doing much better but Beyonce's movie is still doing ridiculously well for a concert movie. And more importantly, there are no other active artists that could approach either of their grosses.

Both women are supporting each other. I hoped it would cause our fanbases to have a temporary truce but  I overestimated atrl.

Reading this thread really drained my energy. I don't know how you do this all the time. Go stream folklore to calm yourselves, please. Neither the Hive nor Beyonce care about the numbers as much as you do.

"The Hives need to lay off the excuses"

Y'all sound so funny. Because this, all of it, doesn't matter lmao! Y'all want the Hives to start licking Taylor and Swiftie feet because of the fact that a Black woman doesn't have equal power in Europe to a blonde White woman who has more theaters on top of that. Woah that's so unexpected! Mind blown.

And Hive babe, why are you bending into a pretzel over whether or not this movie didn't smash. Who  cares? All this bs going around in the world and you letting some YT gay with acrylics typing on their iPhone that they have only paid half of it off from the back of an Arbys after throwing out the trash to end their shift using broken AAVE is making you this pressed? Stand the up and move on. Bey has nothing to prove and you acting like this is just sad at this point. The movie didn't smash. The movie wasn't the next Barbie. Okay? Who cares, she didn't make this for the numbers. Y'all already know she don't care about anything numerical outside of the checks deposited into her account. Move on and stop arguing with them over every little thing. It's played out at this point imo. Stop the stanwar for the love of God.

Arguing over something so trivial. I don't get it. Anyways I am going to go watch it soon. Never been the biggest fan of movies like these but it'll be quite interesting.

Completely agree. To be honest, exactly about 35% for one and 30% for the other. How very stupid, ignorant, challenged and just plain dumb would you be to call out the overseas gross of one of them while stanning the other. It blows my mind.

And then double-down on a ridiculously non sensical joke about percentages because all logic escapes you. Atrl can be exhausting.

Maybe follow the conversation.
How else do you judge how local and how bad both movies did comparatively to the US?
‘Take a math course. Like everything was said in the post. The monsters’ mention is also just...whatever.

Thanks for caring about my education I’d like to inform you I know enough math  to know that comparing % is not the best way

A movie grossing 1 dollar domestic and 2 dollars overseas is not less local than a movie grossing 100M domestic and 50M overseas even if it’s 200% vs 50%

Eras Tour - 3,855 theaters

Never Say Never - 3,105 theaters

This is US - 2,735 theaters

Renaissance - 2,539 theaters

Best of Both Worlds - 683 theaters

Crazy to think that Miley still sits at #2 all these years later with such a limited release compared to the other movies, insane demand. Such an underrated commercial peak. :jonny:

Anyway, back to the topic, I don't think anyone was genuinely excepting Renaissance to pull similar numbers to Taylor. There's still some key markets that didn't have a proper release, which hurts even more non-US numbers. When it's all said and done, this will have a solid gross.

And you think that makes you superior and on the right side? This is very normal in pop culture forums, if you can’t take it then leave.

I stan both Taylor and Beyonce. Literally my top 2 most played artists on Spotify. I keep my pettiness saved for Gaga Stan’s

Seriously asking, how did Miley pull so big numbers with such limited offer did it have some expensive price? Also why was it so limited? Did it have something to do with it being Disney promoted?

I don’t.

And if someone says that Tay was mocked for doing only 33M overseas when 92M was domestic. What was mocked here is the percentage of overseas compared to domestic growth. Precisely what you Swifties are doing here.  Only percentages can accurately reflect that.

Well, we need more time to observe how this performs. Unless it does $5M or something next weekend it's not a bomb :bird:

i really hate to be that guy but there's something so sinister feeling about the rabid fanbase of white america's poster girl being so gleeful in attempting to tarnish the legacy of a self made black woman that stays in her lane and beyond that has unnecessarily associated taylor with her events to keep people at bay. there is a reason taylor is able to so easily succeed with less than 10% of the graft Bey has put into her career and it is NOT the quality of the output.

Most of the audience are grown ups. That's Beyoncé's audience for the most part.

Taylor's audience is mostly children and their parents, so of course it sees more attendance.

I’m sorry but this is a next level coping if you ever need an example :deadbanana2:

Well you can start preparing the shady threads and bath in glee in advance, in most countries overseas, it’s only shown this weekend.

Taylor’s movie will collect more once it is released in China in January, 300 million total incoming :clap3:

About Renaissance film, good US numbers, horrible international numbers. And she’s not gonna do great in China as well.

The thing is swifties didn’t do anything it was literally a news outlet, maybe it’s time for open your eyes and leave the bubble you all live in and realize people using real facts and not vibes like you all do is the majority and not swifties hating over your fav

How is judging the commercial performance of the movie "tarnish the legacy"?  :rip: No one here is judging Beyonce's music quality or her talent. It is the Beyhives here keep dragging Taylor's music quality and spreading misinformation about her even though this thread has nothing to do with her

Sorry, but Taylor's success is on her own and has no relationship with how other people have put into their careers. But you made some points here, cause the budget for one Bey's project is probably 10x times higher considering one only needs 2-3 co-writers and producers and the other needs 78 :giraffe:
