1) she literally says she's grateful for it cuz it literally launched her career

2) Again ATRL continues to pit two successful Black women against each other over a damn quote for what?!

SZA saying she's glad things worked out in the end doesn't nullify the shade she's throwing at Rih, framing her as this evil big artist taking away from smaller artists. :coffee2:

It's like accusing someone of bullying you, and then saying you're grateful for being bullied because it made you stronger. Everyone's still going to see the alleged bully in a negative light.

Was Rihanna aware that SZA wanted to keep the song for herself? She could give it back to her but I don't know if it's that simple once labels get involved.

She willingly played a song that was allegedly for her own album instead of writing a new one like everybody else did at that writing camp - which nobody forced her to even go to in the first place 💀

The way she stealed Tinashe's title track from Joyride after Tinashe announced the album and made her buy the rights to the track after ANTI got released :rip:

"We bought it back," Tinashe said. "It’s kind of crazy and I’m not even 100 percent sure what happened. We created the track, I wanted it for my project, then all of a sudden I found out — I was told — that she had purchased the whole concept and beat for her project. Eventually when that didn’t come out on her project, I was like, “Yup … still want it!” I named my album after it."

"At least Rihanna left SZA on the song," Tinashe said. "That’s nice. It’s interesting because you’re collaborating with a lot of different people who are also adding pieces and parts to your music. So when that happens, you have to have a good amount of synergy. It is a business and there are business opportunities that people want to take. For me, it’s about maintaining the core and staying focused on making the best music."

Navy breaking the dislike button to defend Riri when she's pulling stuff like this. They need music ASAP to do something useful with their lives

Considering that she's notoriously indecisive about putting out new music, it's kinda hard to believe that she had this song "ready to drop in a couple of days"

Ummm Loud is an easy example. But I’m not here to convince you of anything. So whatever makes you sleep better at night

What’s so hard to understand? she never even had a #1 album till her 8th one:rip:

Unapologetic was her 7th not her 8th.

And that entire speech gets invalidated by the simple fact that Anti is still charting in the top 100 after 395 weeks. That’s if we focus solely on the US, because SZA is probably never touching GGGB or Loud’s success globally. Hell, she hasn’t touched TTT, Unapologetic or Anti either, globally, so far.

I really dont think SZA played her fave song to the writing camp spontaneously, are you serious?

She was probably tricked which doesnr surprise me a bit in this industry.

Wasn't the original story Rihanna or someone from her camp asking her to play some songs outside the ones she presented to them by curiosity or something like that? And then they jumped on "Consideration" after hearing it?

And why would you expect a 100% Rnb Album outselling a 100% Pop album designed for the masses ? :rip:

Y all won't downplay SZA success cause what she's doing is beyond exceptional.

The last RnB album to be this big WW was probably ST by Bee, 10 years ago.....

Not sure how I feel about SZA twisting the narrative like this. I know she's campaigning rn but this reads as ungrateful and almost like she's throwing Rihanna under the bus to make herself look like a ~true songwriter~

She said this story million times before and she IS a true songwriter lol.

You’re talking as if Madonna is some kind of a vocalist or professional dancer. Y’all should look more into your faves “talents” before making up narratives about others.

Leave Madonna out of this. Your fave wouldnt be **** without trying to be her.

ANTI is NOT a RnB album in the vain of ST and SOS :rip:

It's way more Hip Hop and Pop than pure RnB.

The only somewhat RnB songs are "Yeah i Said it" and LOTB.

Comparing Anti and Ctrl:deadbanana4:

This is like me saying Taylor should.be compared to folk artists cause she made Folklore

SOS is bigger than any Rihanna album in US. These are literal facts and it would be more clear in year. SOS already 45 weeks in Top 10 on BB200

Must be why ANTI  is still charting for like 400 weeks now

How much of this "charting" isn't due to the singles?

I hate to throw shade at other artists but......

I Dont believe anything she says. She's a pathological liar and a past homophobe and was supportive of sexxy red, inviting her after the trump love-scandal.  Not someone with good morals. Not someone i really trust. She's always crying wolf about something.
Why she played that song at the writing camp then. She digged her own grave  :coffee2:

Caribbean Queen Riri Stays Unbothered with her billion empire and as one of the most successful entertainers in the history of humanity  :gaycat4:

Oh Riri we Love you so much and we miss ya.
Why some newcomers are so bitter about the old legends. They need to move on in life. Theyre serving 10 years old
When you gave them the spotlight and helped them with their careers.
You even included them as a FEAT for your own album.

Ah so ATRL was asking where the pop songs and the hits were on Anti when it dropped but since it ended up producing multiple smash hits and became a huge album, it’s now Pop. Interesting.

Billboard called it Alternative R&B and pretty much every critic aligned with that. Imagine calling Yeah, I Said It "somewhat R&B" when it’s straight up R&B. James Joint, Higher & Close To You are very much R&B/Soul. Needed Me & Kiss It Better were both Grammy-nominated in the R&B categories.

So y’all went from saying Anti is a copy/paste of Ctrl to now saying they’re too different to be compared success-wise… ok.

SOS isn’t 6x Platinum in the US.
