fijitears Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Quote "Consideration was the centerpiece to my album at the time. And for her it was just like part of her album. And I was like, 'please no.' I had just shot a video for it and I was about to drop it in a couple of days. It was already done, like whatever the conversation like label wise, was already done, so it was just like a matter of me accepting [Rihanna would take the song]. It was so hard to let go and accept but now it's like I thank God I made cool music outside of it. And I don't know why I thought my creativity would just stop. Like it was the pinnacle of what I could make, 'if she has it then I'll just never be anything.'" Source: Iconic song: 1

Popular Post LustSpell Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) You played a great song at a writing camp, and got surprised when it got asked for? You'd think a songwriter would keep the stuff for their album private and not shown to other people. Why show the song you based YOUR album around?? Why gamble that Edited December 2, 2023 by LustSpell 15 6 1

Pathetic. Not every performer needs to be a writer, too. In fact, some good singers, are not good at writing songs. And we need to go back to a point where we can acknowledge that that's okay, instead of forcing artists to do things that don't emphasize their strengths. I think this is what's wrong with a lot of brand new artists these days that struggle to break through. They're all expected to write their material and most of it is just garbage. 4 39 2
needs Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 At the same time this did wonders for her career so maybe it wasn't all bad.
Popular Post Billionaire Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) Just don't go around playing songs you intend to keep for yourself it's not really that hard Rih was also nice enough to keep her as a feature & for a good while people only really knew her for that/it boosted her career so Also don't get why she keeps on talking about this like girl it's 2023 and you've achieved MUCH bigger things since then, it's time to move on Edited December 2, 2023 by Billionaire 23 1 1 1

Popular Post qurl Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 i love SZA. found her in 2014 and the first time i heard ICE.MOON i was a stan. she should thank her lucky stars every day of the week that Rihanna featured her on Consideration. it was absolutely the thing that catapulted her and made her eventual album CTRL something people checked for. if she dropped that album without the Rihanna co-sign, she would simply not be the global artist , on track to potentially with AOTY at the Grammys , that she is right now 16 2 1

Popular Post TheBoss Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 The way she stealed Tinashe's title track from Joyride after Tinashe announced the album and made her buy the rights to the track after ANTI got released "We bought it back," Tinashe said. "It’s kind of crazy and I’m not even 100 percent sure what happened. We created the track, I wanted it for my project, then all of a sudden I found out — I was told — that she had purchased the whole concept and beat for her project. Eventually when that didn’t come out on her project, I was like, “Yup … still want it!” I named my album after it." "At least Rihanna left SZA on the song," Tinashe said. "That’s nice. It’s interesting because you’re collaborating with a lot of different people who are also adding pieces and parts to your music. So when that happens, you have to have a good amount of synergy. It is a business and there are business opportunities that people want to take. For me, it’s about maintaining the core and staying focused on making the best music." 15 1

Big Bad Wolf Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Are we surprised? Technically, Rihanna is a foreign thief. I'm stunned at SZA's bravery to finally reveal this! 1 3 23

Rihanna is not an artist. She's basically a glorified lipsyncer with a pretty face. That's why she ditched music the minute money started coming from elsewhere. 13 2 6 26
Rid Of Me Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 She wants to play the victim but why would you join a writing camp and play your songs to others if you don't want to give them to others? 2
Great808 Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Honestly it’s good she keeps repeating this story cause it’s not even about the fact that it should have been her song or whatever but because you can tell she WANTS ppl to know that Rihanna is not a songwriter let alone much of a talent to begin with and ironically the person she took the song from is. 3 4 10
on the line Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Gurl, good luck booking those grammy's now!
