While that's true, Doja's hair is NOT the only reason why some people cooled off from her.

Still waiting for her to address the Sam Hyde shirt

Lol people in this thread scrambling to explain why it can't be true because she's basically describing them ,I love her for this

Well, ATRLers thought the same thing regarding Katy. Didn't turn out so well in the end. :celestial5:

Difference with her is she waited too long to bring the black back... and served a very weird pregnant clown aesthetic inbetween that's hard to forget.

It’s true, and we all know it :rip:

She knows ATRL too well :ryan3:

I’ve rarely felt embarassed as much as when Doja Cat has anything to say.

Of course an artist’s appearence and looks matter (especially for females), it’s part of their brand. Her statement just makes her sound dumb and out of touch. People are mainly tired of her behavior.

She spilled. People were all over Twitter calling her queen mother when she put the wig back on for that sensual 4th of July shoot a few months back. Let's be real, alot of the hate she gets (at least prior to her whole Nazi stint/I hate my fans) was because she presented herself in a way that the general public didn't want her to present. If you're a woman in the industry and not sexualizing yourself or presenting yourself as extremely feminine (esp with female rappers) you're kinda looked down upon, sad but true.

Now they're in here calling her edgy because they know it's true and they don't wanna admit that they perpetuate the behavior she's calling out :ahh:

Eh this issue goes a lot deeper than Doja Cat, and her speaking on it through her own lens isn't an issue whatsoever to me. I've always found her humor goofy and ironic, and it's a bit weird that people are only annoyed now that it's about her hair but alas

Tbh especially any cis-male shouldn't give their whack opinion on the issue without at least showing some empathy. It's genuinely not the same for men as it is for women. Why can't Doja be frustrated at that? Gays are frustrated about how they're seen as less-than in public (and have thus created a whole celebratory month around themselves), why can't a woman feel frustrated with being seen as less-than in public for something entirely aesthetic? Women have been treated horribly in history if they didn't adhere to beauty standards, or would be punished in ways that would make them "lose value" by not adhering to said standards (shave their heads against their will). Historically, women without hair have been seen as less-valuable. Men with no hair are seen as powerful. Let's cut the bs for anyone not understanding where she's coming from tbh.

I think people just see a gorgeous woman who doesn't need to be making this statement and feel like she's doing it out of spite. They can't comprehend that it's a genuine issue for a lot of people. Listen to even one interview where she talks about it and you'll see it's anything but performative.

It's especially short-sighted of people to look at an isolated statement and pretend like it's tiring, when the build up is very known and clear (Doja shaved her head because she wanted to and started getting harassed in her comment sections). She was CONTINUOUSLY getting harassed every time she posted ANYTHING (and she wasn't doing all the by now "tired" antics at all yet)

Kittenz & KatyCats are one and the same if you think about it

I miss her long hair but she’s allowed to feel however she wants on this topic. I have no idea what it’s like to have long hair. She looks good bald as well. It’s not like it’s hurt her career much - she has 2 hits off of her current album and 1 of them is a huge #1 smash. She’s on a nearly sold out tour currently. If she wants to continue her career bald, I say go for it.

She's corny and insufferable. Like girl give it a rest. You're not edgy or unique because you shaved your ******* head.

Don't care if she wears a wig or she's bald, I just want bops

Will she every grow out of this tryhard edgy persona or will she forever be the tinychat girl? The issue is not the hair but the tshirts celebrating alt right personalities.

If you got offended by this… she’s probably talking about you :suburban:
