I mean, I am all for it... my point being that we are going to have to drop all of our faves if this is the expectation. Zionism runs Hollywood and the Music Business. All of our faves associate with Zionists. You can not virtue signal online about dropping Zionists and then support a fave who has Zionist friends/business partners/colleagues.

Ah yes, the age old trope of Jews Zionists running the world. Nothing to see here!

america as a country isn’t built off being racist, homophobic, women hating, pro life, MAGA. meanwhile israel as a country is literally a product of living on stolen land, ethnic cleansing, committing genocides and occupying the original owners without giving them any rights.

Honey I know you didn't say that with a straight face :rip:

Slavery, women's suffrage, and Native American genocide sweeties....

The way yall quite literally do not understand what Zionism is :skull:

Zionism is an inherently genocidal belief system based on ethnic cleansing and ethno-nationalism.  Israel is built on ethnic cleansing, land theft, apartheid laws, war crimes, murder of Palestinians, etc.

You can argue that some people were born there and actually oppose what Israel is doing or they have been lied to/forcefed propaganda their entire lives, and I agree with that to an extent. But the Israeli flag IS a political statement, especially as that terrorist state has been murdering thousands of people. Let alone waving it during a wedding.

The amount of people using Jewish/Israeli/Zionist interchangeably here is so ******* weird and antisemitic, actually.

Exactly :clap3:

Equating being Jewish/Judaism to a murderous secular apartheid that expelled and killed land natives to be established is actually antisemitic.

"Israel is built on war crimes" please point to me where that happened?

Zionism is the belief that the Jewish people are entitled to a self-determined Jewish state – something that every other major religion in the world has (multiple of). Israel was founded on Jews who had survived the Holocaust - where two thirds of the entire Jewish people in Europe were killed (actual genocide). It was also founded by refugees from Arab countries who escaped persecution. Jews in Arab states during before and after WWII were having their homes and stores burnt, were being killed, and no nations would take in these Jews – so they returned to their ancestral homeland and the one place Jews had self-determination. Jews also lived in that land for years and continued to have ancestral, holiday, and agricultural ties to that indigenous land. Many Jews also lived in and never left the land of the modern day state of Israel. The State of Israel was partitioned by the UN in the post-WWII period. Note that many countries and lands were divided up again following the end of WWII, which is common at the end of any war, especially land held by those who were on the losing side of the war. And not coincidentally, many of the Arab states that held the land that became the modern state of Israel were Nazi collaborators – thus, them losing the control of such land is again a normal consequence of war.

Note also that much of the land in contention today that Israel occupies was won after the Arab states around Israel said they would not accept the existence of a Jewish state in the Middle East (nothing to do, for better or for worse, with the Palestinian people). And after a surprise invasion of Israel by these states on their holiest holiday, Israel was able to hold the nations off and ended up winning more land in that war. (Again, a consequence of war). Much of that land that was not originally portioned to Israel was intended to be held as leverage for future peace talks with the Arab nations. But unfortunately, as time went on and more conflict arose, more hard-lined Israeli people who got elected following terrorist attacks in Israel decided to push for Israelis to settle that land to impede future Israeli governments from being able to give that land back.

But with that said, to imply that Israel was founded as some "white genocidal apartheid colonial" entity is just inaccurate and offensive. It was and is a refuge for Jewish people escaping genocide and persecution, and it continues to be a safe haven for Jews who have been persecuted and had their land stolen (including land of the current state of Israel) for millennia. And people find it antisemitic when people deny Israel's right to exist - when it is the only Jewish state in the world and such scrutiny and genocidal calls for the total annihilation of a state is not given to any other nation in the world. And for that reason, people find pure antizionism to be antisemitic. As it begs the question, why is it that the only Jewish state in the world is 1) constantly and disproportionately scrutinized, and 2) called for to be destroyed entirely. Especially when many of those calls come from those who openly call for the destruction of Jews – not just Israel – entirely (For example, Hamas and Iran).

My dad and his entire family were born in Ramla, Palestine and expelled from it in 1948 by European settlers. His entire ancestry was also born there.

The family and friends I have left in Palestine are currently living and experiencing this system of apartheid and systemic discrimination, and Israel is correctly classified as an apartheid by various organizations including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International.

I will not let you gaslight me and invalidate the experience of our displacement by playing around with dictionary definitions.

So with all due respect, shut the **** up :skull:

My family comes from Jews who lived in that land prior to the inception of the modern state of Israel, as well as from those who lived for hundreds of years in Yemen and Iran and whose homes were burnt to the ground and family members killed. And the only state that would accept them was the state of Israel. Your description of the state of Israel being white European settlers is not accurate.

Because you can't refute the content of the post. Namely, the truth. To call a partition by the UN "war crimes" is quite interesting.

In 1948 my Palestinian family which was legally living in Palestine along with 700,000 other Palestinians were expelled, and others murdered, to establish this white settler colony of individuals, most of whom are white Europeans and have no connection to the land.

My dad, my grandpa, my great grandpa, my great great grandpa (and I could go on and on) were all Palestinian legally born in Palestine and displaced by the white settler colony of Israel (which by the way, is currently an apartheid).

You could go back in time hundreds and thousands of years to try and draw correlations between your ancestry and the land of Israel/Palestine, and you just might find those correlations (although inapplicable to most people currently living in the white settler colony of Israel), but it won't change the fact that modern day Israel (not to be conflated old testament Israel) is a 75 year-old white settler colony that is built on the expulsion and murder of those who were living on that land legally.

Your mental gymnastics on "the consequences of war" and attempting to equate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism are tired efforts that we've seen too many times before.

Anyway, where was your grandpa born, N.M.K.? :gaycat3:

It's cuz Gigi is not a popgirl. God forbid Bey or Rih was spotted,  they'll be having a field day and the racism will run rampant.

I haven't seen anything on Gigi attending the wedding, could you please provide sources?

Either way, considering the fact that Gigi is literally a Palestinian who has publicly denounced the state of Israel (not somebody who made a whole genocide about her, refused to call out Israel, got dragged through the mud, then had to close her comments), it could easily be interpreted as a miss on her end and not a pattern of nonchalant pro-Israel behavior, unlike Selena.

I'm not her stan,

but if you attend your Israeli friend's wedding does that mean you're zionism?

You can't change your friend's race and it's just a wedding not a political rally.

It’s so bizarre people expect her to skip out on a friends wedding just to save face online. That would make her a fantastic friend!

Happy Selena prioritizes being a good friend over satisfying blood thirsty internet trolls desperate to cancel people :heart2:
