Does she still have enough hype around her to score #1?

I think so. Her next era is a make or break moment for her, so I think she won't fumble it

1000%. There is no way she won't outsell everyone again.

She is still Adele. She might not be able to sell 20 million albums anymore but she'll still outsell (almost) everybody with ease

Very likely it won’t. Her last single didn’t even make it to the RC date on the hot100 despite its massive radio airplay. (Iirc EOM had the top 3 biggest radio support this decade?)

there is no way Sony would spend that much money on her again given how badly their investment turned out (all her vinyls were discounted to $5 and still it wasnt selling, so they were sent to collect dust in Goodyear of all places.)

and now she’s being forced to extend her Vegas residency till 2024 cus presumably Sony need her to recoup that expenditure.

anyone who paid a bit of attention to her latest performance knew the next era will be heading towards disaster, she even knows it and that’s why she’s starting a cosmetics business.

and btw she won’t receive another “5 year hiatus” boost either. That’s gonna be a real dent for her.

Which part?

that Her single fell off the charts before the RC limit?

That ‘30’ isnt selling dispute given huge discounts?

that retail stores sent her vinyls away en mass to Goodyear?

that ‘30’ charted less than a year and then fell off of the top 200 chart?

I would imagine so since her last lead was another 10 week #1 right? Maybe she'll miss it and go Top 3.

Her "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" is upon us, she will replicate 25's #s and we will all be GAGGED

Lol Adele is way beyond having a 'make or break' moment with all she's achieved between 19/21/25/30. She could decide to not even put out another album.

OP: She's pretty much guaranteed a #1 lead. How it holds is another question. I think her and the label will always pound out the hype correctly after "Hello" and "Easy on Me"'s campaigns.

Well they're in different leagues :rip: It's Adele we're talking about

I don’t think it’s 100%. If Taylor released on the same day for example, I wouldn’t be so sure. Otherwise, it’s highly likely.

Ed was probably as close to Adele league as anyone could get in 2017, plus he had male privilege going for him. The fact he wasn’t able to follow up Divide with an era where at least the lead went #1 is kinda shocking.

No doubt about it. She could surprise release on a Wednesday and it would still be Top 10.

Yes ,she just needs to stop releasing albums every 5 years ,that's the slowest way to build a catalog and keep momentum going :ace:
