My heart breaks for him like every time I’m reminded of what’s become of him I’m still so shocked and upset by it. Watching him back then brought me so much joy. Whatever happened, I just truly hope that he followed this path on his own accord with no outside influences. Whatever he is going through I hope he makes it through and ends up happy.

I don't think anyone will know what actually happened here. He still denies going to conversion therapy and yeah as many have said he seemed to have support from his mother in regards to living his life. But I also guess you never really know the truth of what's going on behind closed doors? However you spin it it's sad.
