Here's my recording! The orchestra literally replicated the studio version's magic perfectly, and her voice was sooooo phenomenal. I wish that I started my recording earlier but I wanted to experience it in the moment. The lighting was also so gorgeous - this deep teal and blue. And the lighting projected on the ceiling was shimmering/moving in an aquatic fashion. It felt like we were underwater looking towards/hearing heaven.

one of her best songs from her best album, the setlist for these orchestral shows is actually amazing. wish she'd tour with that iteration in Europe as well.

Like 100 reissues

 

Halcyon nights was released for the 10th anniversary of Halcyon and includes ALL previous tracks from Halcyon including the deluxe edition tracks and ALL tracks from Halcyon days.

 

However it also includes "mirror" (from hunger games), the previously unreleased to streaming "Bittersweet" (from Twilight) and the UK exclusive track "the ending".

 

It's missing one track however and that is Ellie's cover of The Weeknd's "High For This" which was on the UK exclusive special edition of Halcyon.

 

Give those bonus tracks a listen. They're some of my favourites of the album!

It should've been used as a movie main theme song. I know it got famous cause of that Grey's anatomy episode

What kind of show was this? It's listed as 'Higher Than Heaven Tour' on setlist.fm but literally has zero songs from that album lol

it's the american exclusive opera performance thing part of the HTH tour

She finished the Higher Than Heaven Tour in Europe a few weeks back!

 

These are four shows in the USA - two in New York + two in California - where she is performing in a concert hall with a full orchestra. The venue was assigned seating and for most of the show we sat down tbh. The performances were marketed as "An Evening with Ellie Goulding" - and would allegedly include both older songs and some from HTH. I went to the first show and there were no HTH songs (not even Miracle which surprised me tbh). Lots of Halcyon deep cuts which were absolutely beautiful with the orchestra. In the lobby, she was selling a bunch of HTH merch - the physical albums/vinyls, HTH shirts, and HTH cups/bottles. Sooo I guess it was kind of blended into the tour as an extension, but it really had nothing to do with this new album in the end.

“To just implode like that is a scary thought — I heard it’s like boiling alive in a matter of milliseconds, like turning into gas,” she said.

Aww, reading this made me smile. I used to stan her back then with the same enthusiasm you currently have. I don't use Ellie that much anymore but H(N) was such an important and decade defining album for me :heart2:
