I kind of understand the core message of vegans/vegetarians, but I've seen so many people struggle with health due to their vegan diet and tbh I have more important stuff in my life to put my energy into.

This thread isn’t about veganism, it’s about looking for practical solutions to the issues factory farming creates.

And “solving” environmental racism is not only the onus of those who consume animal products, because factory farming is only one of many examples of environmental racism. Mining, landfills, and industrial production also fall into this category. It honestly is very weird how you are framing this thread.

Well right now we’re in a thread discussing environmental racism caused by factory farming so why are you trying to shift the focus onto mining?

This is the title of your thread: “What Are Some Of Meat Eater’s Solutions For Environmental Racism?“

Defining what environmental racism is and what it includes is not “shifting focus,” and it directly relevant. This is also especially apparent that you are placing the onus of the location of factory farms onto everyday people who consume animal products. My eating a cheeseburger does not hold be responsible for a billion-dollar conglomerate choosing locations, nor does that qualify me to “have solutions” to… end environmental racism?

By that logic, vegans who throw away trash… need to have solutions for landfill placement in low income areas. Do you see how ridiculous your question is?

So you don’t see any purpose in living your life in a way that can reduce harm, and want to shift blame onto conglomerates entirely? Got it.

When countries like America put profits before people there is no incentive for these corporations to clean up after themselves nor is there any accountability. It's a governance issue more than anything else.

My country relies on our livestock industries and problems like this have been solved with tougher regulations and innovative solutions. Livestock might not be sustainable in the long term but all those environmental racism-centric issues you've outlined like water and air pollution could be mitigated if governments just did their job

I don't know how to solve this problem.

I’m a non animal product consumer and meat is never going to stop, so lab grown meat meat needs to hurry up as factory farming is diabolical on all fronts . But the politicians all have their shares in these mega farms , so progress is extremely slow . The more people reject supporting these places the less demand will be.

Lab grown meat is never gonna work let's be real here. Even if it becomes real cheap, people will always want to eat the authentic and non GMO etc manufactured thing.

Well unless they're so poor that they can only buy lab grown meat.

Lab grown is authentic meat and its already real and has been approved to be served in some San Francisco restaurants. It’s not a “poor people” product.

Also we need to stop with the GMO’s are bad for you propaganda.

I'm a vegetarian.

But can you fix the thread title so only the first word is capitalized, per title rules? :heart2:

Yes I know but that's not what other people will think.

Lab grown meat is actually healthier

“cell-based meat can be produced with lower levels of saturated fat, making it a healthier option. Moreover, producing cultured meat requires little to no land and water, making it sustainable as well.

Lab-grown meats are free of growth hormones as well. Commercial livestock factories use these hormones to expedite the growth of farm animals. Their excess use has harmful health outcomes.”

Lower the price of organic, since it’s grown by free cow poop.

It means they're not doing it correctly, lot of people think becoming vegan is something that you can do from day to night, while it requires a transition in order to do it correctly and knowing the food along with their nutritions and vitamins value.

It's your health and what you put in your body everyday, it should be a priority.
