She’s about to release her 2nd album, so next month Dua and her will have the same amount of albums

I don’t know why Dua and Tate get compared when their brands are almost entirely different, their careers are way different as far as time goes and they have way different bases worldwide.

 

A more apt comparison would be Tate replacing Doja since both are known for being performers and Doja was the TikTok hit girl before Tate, while Dua used her TTH residencies to get her smashas.

We went from many nonexistent album versions to her amount of songs on Spotify? (More than 1/3rd of which aren’t on either of her albums)

Exactly what i was thinking. The way this forum is OBSESSED with the idea of pop stars "replacing" other pop stars is just ******* weird. Tate need to have many more hits before she can get close to Dua's status.

 

Dua will probably have other hits too, just because Houdini isn't doing as well as people initially thought doesn't mean her career is over

Tate is not replacing Dua, and multiple girls can co-exist and succeed together

 

That being said, the market seems to be moving from Dua's brand of dance-pop

Tate has alot of potential. Its been a while since a new girl served sickening choreography etc. ala britney/beyonce. Now she needs good writers and producers to help her make quality music and not some TikTok level pop tunes.

Tate seems to have stronger raw performing talent vs dua but ofc you can't compare their discographies considering dua is two huge eras into her career and clearly pulls weight in the industry whereas tates is in infancy
