M!X Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) I am a stan and no, a billionaire like her should be dragged every single day until we get new music again Edited November 15, 2023 by M!X 1
Beyonceist Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 The only things that are getting stale are those unsold panties and makeup 1 1 1 1
Ewan Chaos Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Are those true drags? I thought those were just said by her stans who hate her for abandoning new music

I was talking about the non-fans and antis using it as a drag to downplay the impact of those ventures and reducing it to just being a "makeup lady" or "panty seller."
modeblock Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 No, and the lashings will continue until R9 lead is announced!
Relampago. Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 What drags, she’s literally selling those things?

Literally: She didn't perform either of those songs during her Super Bowl performance, which is the most watched in history and made her go #1 on Spotify global, something Beyoncé has yet to do. Lift Me Up debuted with 8M streams on Spotify and went #1 on both Apple Music & iTunes... is the "indication of having absolutely no demand for her music" in the room with us right now ? It also had more points during its debut week on the Hot 100 than Break My Soul had during its first week and the week it went #1. Lift Me Up's first week: 26.2M streams, 23K downloads, 48.1M airplay audience Break My Soul's first week: 14M streams, 22K downloads, 11.1M airplay audience Break My Soul's #1 week: 18.9M streams, 13K downloads, 61.7M airplay audience And this is a lead single vs. a soundtrack single. A dance-pop song vs. a lullaby. The lack of self-awareness is crazy. "ANTI", "Unapologetic", "Loud" and "Good Girl Gone Bad" are all currently outstreaming every Beyoncé album on Spotify including 2022's Renaissance. I don't know why you tried it, but that was stupid. 2
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Most of the makeup & beauty "drags" not actually serious drags, they are mostly in jest because we're on a music forum and we're frustrated as hell she has not released an album in 8 years. I don't have a problem with them. In reality I think 99% of people respect the hell out of what she did with Fenty. 2

"Lift My Panties" initially gained attention due to intensive radio payola and the anticipation surrounding her comeback, and for the song being featured in the Black Panther movie. However, you conveniently left out the fact that the song's success was extremely short-lived as the song quickly bombed off the charts after the payola of the first week wore out. The song flopping can also be attributed to Rihanna's lack of relevance and the absence of public demand. Furthermore, you conveniently omitted mentioning "Stillborn Again", but I can see why. With the utter embarrassing and humiliating flops that the two songs were I can see why she went back to panty sales. No longevity, no demand. The RENAISSANCE singles, on the other hand, have sustained longevity and cannot relate to these failures by Rihanna the Panty Saleswoman.

The RENAISSANCE singles, on the other hand, have sustained longevity and cannot relate to these failures by Rihanna the Panty Saleswoman. And you ignored pretty much everything I said, for obvious reasons. There's no reason why "Born Again", a track Rihanna has never even acknowledged, should be mentioned here. The demand for new music you were speaking of is observed upon release, and it was very much there when she released Lift Me Up. Whether the song resonated or not with the general public in the long run or had longevity doesn't change the fact that there was demand, hence the first day numbers. 8M first-day streams on Spotify is a number that most of her peers, including your fave, have never come close to, and she did it with a slow song from a soundtrack. Considering Beyoncé's track record with OST singles, I wouldn't be trying it if I was you. Quote The RENAISSANCE singles, on the other hand, have sustained longevity and cannot relate to these failures by Rihanna the Panty Saleswoman. That part is especially funny considering Lift Me Up spent 20 weeks on the Hot 100 and Cuff It is quite literally the only "Renaissance" single that has charted longer than this. Not even Break My Soul, the lead single, managed to hit 20 weeks (it did 18). And it's getting outstreamed by Lift Me Up daily on Spotify. Dare I say the sudden interest for singles is certainly interesting coming from the fanbase that had a lot to say about "quick lil singles". Why are the decade old albums from the retired, irrelevant singer with zero demand outstreaming your fave's 2022 album in 2023 ? 1
Gladiator Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 (edited) I'm not really sure what the drags accomplish when her beauty brand is the most successful in the world and what she has put her focus in for many years. Edited November 16, 2023 by Gladiator
John Slayne Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 this is a music forum and most people here know Rihanna as a musician first, so i get why they complain. nobody's denying her brands are successful, it's more of a jab at her for not releasing music. i think much worse things are said about other artists on a regular basis, so... meh, i don't really care about this.
VerdantHue Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 I think she is smart for venturing into other industries bc a career in music is finite - whether that's 1 year or 20 years. Do I wish she'd release something already, yes. When you have Doja, Ariana and other artists referencing her Fenty empire in their music, the "dragging" does get stale.
PinkLamborghini Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 No, keep shaming her until she releases an album. 1
