Dumb thread, her songs are always sleeper hits, why would you think "Houdini" is different? Keep streaming the song and worry about its success later.

Haven't y'all still learned.

Y'all pulled the same **** for Dance the Night it didn't smash right out of the gate, but it ending up serving longevity and became that highest peaking song from the Barbie soundtrack.

Haters definitely said that about Rihanna. They just lost because Rih is a queen.

Rihanna has never been faceless.

If you list all of Dua's singles, more than 70% flopped in the US :deadvision:

2023: Levitating - Diamond

2024: Don’t Start Now - Diamond

2025: New Rules - Diamond

2026: One Kiss - Diamond

2027: Cold Heart - Diamond

2028: No Lie - Diamond

2029: Break My Heart - Diamond

2030: IDGAF - Diamond

She can score a Diamond single every for at least 8 years in a row, currently. She’s doing amazingly well here

Once she shoves it down your throats you will eat it

The way Taylor stomped Olive Garden out after her stans swore she was the next coming of Taylord and now they have to pick on slow burn artists and speak of freefalling while Guts tumbles off the charts

Once Houdini or single #2 smashes, what will they attack next? Charli XCX’s lead?

They used to say she relied on features to get her hits cause she couldn’t carry anything solo then she stomped on everyone, bffr

After Xmas Freeze this song will reach top 5 on radio and hit top 10 on bb100 :-*

Pon De Replay, Unfaithful, SOS, all of her very singles were smashes and solo. people knew who Rihanna was. her face was everywhere, again, she was never faceless. her voice and persona were instantly recognizable.

You mean back when people were calling her a Beyonce copy??

Rih is my #1 fave since 2007, I remember vividly how people said she didn’t have a solid fanbase or a face because she always had low debuts and didn’t get a #1 album till Unapologetic.

She absolutely had that narrative attached to her, not that it was deserved, just like Dua.

just because she was compared to Beyoncé does not mean she was faceless. again, my point stands, Beyoncé was huge and people still knew who Rihanna was, regardless of the comparisons.

and my point stands stronger after you compare their WW stats, Rihanna was a bigger global phenomenom than Beyoncé during her first eras.

She doesn’t have a lot of fans, so her songs demands a lot of Spotify and Radio payola to make GP knows the song. Sadly, her label probably don’t make much money from her songs

It makes sense there’d be no demand for a pop star as vacuous as her

I literally said the claims had no validity and yet they were still levied against Rih. What’s not clicking?

I feel like the song will go viral on Tiktok like DSN and Levitating. I remember, Levitating was really getting huge streaming numbers before it went viral on Tiktok which gave a second wind on Billboard.

this is what you call freefalling?

It wasn't super catchy so will be a slow burner imo.

Earlier this year it was 'why didn't Dance The Night reach the top 10 at global spotify?', and now that Houdini debuted there the goalpost magically changed :giraffe:

BC it’s a bad song, duh.
