Kanye literally got a AOTY nomination last year after he posted pictures of himself pissing on his Grammy.

 

Kanye and The Weeknd literally both won a Grammy last year for the same song  The Weeknd hasn't submitted any of his solo music since the AH snub

I was gonna say "not really, since Blinding Lights carried the album" but realized Miley also got the nomination for ESV even though only Flowers hard carried the album. If anything, it showed how corrupt Grammy is.

I don't know that this comparison makes sense. In the US, After Hours sold more than half of ESV lifetime sales in its first week and had three number one singles including the 2020 and 2021 global best sellers. He literally headlined the Super Bowl a month before the Grammys off the strength of that album - it's wild it got no nominations.

I've been followed awards since years and his snub has never made sense to me, especially when Grammys are about popularity these days, I recall that year even Justin Bieber with an atrocious song that wasn't even a big hit got nominated instead, it has always been blatant to me that something fishy has happened with his snub, also because the album would have fit different categories, from pop to rnb, urban.. There's no way this project couldn't have got a minor field nominations, especially when it was even one of the most predicted albums in AOTY from the various media outlet.
