I remember being really disappointed with Something to Tell You. I eventually bought it, and it definitely has its moments, but there is a major difference between the debut and the sophomore effort.

Came here to post this lol. It was so underwhelming that she cancelled the tour, the 2nd single, and never released music again :flame:

Compared to the SMASH that was The Album, this one was just way too tame and lame. 2 years wait for 7 new mid songs and + 1 leaked track from years ago. A mess. They were so f*cking lazy. :rip:

Personally Ella Mai. Loved her debut and couldn't care less about her since I heard the follow up.

After it was released I thought that Born This Way was horrible but it's good in its way.

For now? It's GUTS but maybe it will change for me.

It's usually the 3rd album that they fail on.

The only one I can think of for 2nd though is Dorian Electra.

It felt sooo underwritten

I've heard of a sophomore slump and the stan-coined 4th era curse but the 3rd album is usually safe :deadbanana2:

OT: Icarus Falls, Sucker, In My Defense

From the artists I've checked in my discog, it's usually the 3rd album.

That happened a while after the second album though.

It refers to the "never released music again :flame:" part.

I also feel like she doesn't purposely tell when it happened. She just says it took her a long time to mend her broken pieces and even longer to get the courage to speak.

"The Sweet Escape"

Gwen sweetie.....What was that? :biblio:

There was like 3 or 4 good songs and the rest was pure trash compared to the masterpiece that was L.A.M.B.

Exactly this. Lots of just... repetitive lines.

Double Dutchess by Fergie

I second this. She was never going to be able to outdo the original though. She should've just came with a fresh new concept.

Most disappointing is certainly gonna be different than worst, so I totally agree with HAIM's Something to Tell You. I agree there's great material on there - I still think You Never Knew is one of their best songs - but especially looking back now that they have WIMPIII out as well it's just disappointing compared to their other albums and was disappointing as a follow up to DAG. Even the not great songs were at least fun live, though.

THIS. I loved Born to Die/Paradise (and AKA Lizzy Grant for that matter), and I was extremely disappointed with Ultraviolence.
