Was Lady Gaga ahead of her time for this song?

Now that we know Dua Lipa's comeback single is helmed by Kevin Parker, can't help but feel like Gaga was once again lowkey ahead of the curve by working with him all the way back in 2016. Today, pop artists like Dua and even Madison Beer are emulating his signature psychedelic sound...

Love PI but my only gripe is that she really should've kept the demo production and maybe even explored it more on Joanne because whew...

Yeah, but she's usually ahead of the curve and doing things that become trendy in the following years so that's nothing new

Well that explains why I didn’t like that Houdini snippet

Kevin should've kept it. His dreamy vocals over that production :loki:

Obviously. It’s one of her best songs. I think it helped that I was going through a breakup when this song came out. So I related to it in every way possible. I agree that the demo production would’ve been better, and no key change.

I also feel like Perfect Illusion was a very last minute addition to Joanne. They needed a “smash” for the lead single and didn’t have one yet. However, no matter what she released back then wouldn’t have been a smash hit anyways.

I feel like PI aged really well and it grew on me a lot even though Joanne is still my least fave Gaga album. :gaycat1:
