I’m pretty sure if Billboard saw how the last 4 years played out (with the emergence of TikTok, and BTS stans buying 8000 copies of Butter), and had to do it all over again, I’m pretty sure they would have kept UGC streams and removed sales from the Hot 100 instead.

 

UGC streams never created a chart inaccuracy. Mass buying, on the other hand, has created many ‘fake’ #1’s since 2020.

i remember it never topped sales, and it didn't have a ton of on demand streams.

Not to mention, it’s almost a year old. It’s best hope is for a resurgence on radio after the holiday season, kind of like Heat Waves two years ago.

Btw the “new version” of LPGiobbi remix is not new. I don’t see anything new on AM, iTunes or Spotify from the original remix, which is longer than the original. So I think they’re just advertising the remix in general.

And HS never got more than 5 million in weekly airplay audience either. Granted it was super short, but HS was as 1 sided of a hit as possible.
