Most Swifties can respect Britney as a pioneer of pop music (even if we have to get a kii in from time to time). I think most intelligent people can recognize that the users throwing around Britney's name (or Madonna's name) are just jealous and bitter stans of girls who don't even come close, and they're trying to figure out how to cope with that reality.

It's so amazing to see her reinvent and take control of her narrative and have people support it.

 

I hope there is a plan to keep this going until TS11. 1989 is a special because this. iswhere she truly transcended so I hope they at least give a visual or two soon.

I'm choosing to see their desperation and grasping for a drag as their own way of celebrating the achievement. They're so desperate that they're trying anything, and it's all still failing for them. Their desperate attempt to drag Britney down to that level (despite probably secretly and jealously hating her just as much) is just their new low. 

 

Taylor has truly captured the cultural zeitgeist over the past year, and with the Eras Tour going inter-continental next year, I think she'll be spreading and proselytizing her music to new places which should help her momentum through TS11. I do agree that getting a visual would be nice, though

I didn't say it wasn't liked or discredited Midnight, just not as much as 1989, it is her newest album in the streaming era after all so yeah it should have insane hold, and I also agree it's her 2nd biggest album
about anti-hero idk, I don't follow the chart like I used to but Swifties like to use numbers so 10 weeks is bigger but I really don't see how it's bigger than Blank Space or SIO

new fans like Gen Z/alpha and part of millennials keep her streaming stable but I don't think the sound of Midnight reaches a wider demographic like 1989 if that makes sense

anti-hero is definitely bigger than blank space factually. not trying to come for you or anything, but the public is really not as pretentious as atrl is. lol. they clearly vibed with midnights enough to have it be her 2nd most successful album.

As i said it's REALLY weird how ATRL want us to believe that Midnights is this universally disliked album when it really couldn't be further from the truth

this has been my issue with people on here for a minute now. lol. clearly midnights isn’t a favorite on atrl and that’s okay, but the fact that they try to paint this story that the gp hates midnights too is crazy  they clearly liked the album and are still consuming it to this day, and it’s critically acclaimed as well + has one of her biggest hit singles.

 

there’s absolutely nothing indicating that midnights isn’t reaching a wider demographic when in fact it solidified her presence in europe and the few countries she had yet to crack.

Exactly. This weird hatred for Midnights really makes no sense. It's fine to not like the album as much as some of her other work but the GP CLEARLY love this album and that's an objective fact.

It should be noted though that these numbers are really inflated since the resurgence of vinyl, so it really cannot be compared to the original.
