The OP said it: when the tour stopped, the streams diminished.

 

And since a tour = promotion, it really shows that even being one of the biggest stars on earth, if you aren't actively involved in promoting your work (then and now), the streaming numbers are probably going to reflect that, because daily consumption is based on momentary popularity and/or the streaming of older, established songs that people want to go back to.

 

In Beyoncé's case, she stopped promoting her new albums in the traditional sense after 2011. That's 12 years ago. And he hascontinued to do less and less each era until now we don't have a single music video nor live performance, the two things she did do up until 2016. And the album she promoted in 2016 was not even on Spotify until 2019. And her newest era, despite having a #1 hit followed by her longest charting song on the Hot 100 in her 20 year career, barely had a third single.

 

The simple fact of the matter is that while this stat may seem novel or to imply something (namely that if even Katy who ATRL has considered a "flop" since 2017 can out stream Beyoncé, what does that mean for her?), it actually doesn't matter in terms of her career, her popularity, nor her legacy. She literally just ended what has been called the best-selling female tour of all time with just 56 dates.

 

To thing that momentary streams is the marker of importance or even success is silly. I am clearly one of the biggest fans of Beyoncé, and yet I didn't listen to Renaissance once during October. Why? Is it because I prefer other artists, think they're better, or anything else? No. It's simply that I didn't chose to listen to them, and had been listening to Renaissance a lot during the duration of the tour.

Streams don't matter much when you can gross over 500M+ this late into your career with a tour or get millions for just one performance (not saying katy isn't making money). Streams are for the new artists to prove something. They pay artists in pennies anyway unless you are gathering massive numbers like bad bunny or Taylor.

You are the one making it seem like media propaganda is why nobody cared for Chromatica It's a terrible album and everyone agrees, it's not the medias fault. Chromatica also had tons of writers and samples, and still did poorly. COPE!!!!!!

Campy lyrics and fun dance music are not allowed anymore I guess Samples are why the album has so many writers, it’s an art form that gaga has tried her hand in, sometimes without letting the artist she’s sampling get any credit 

 

 

her biggest hit poker face has the same type of sample you’re trying to drag Beyoncé for, it just didn’t get the same acclaim because her music is not as good  you’re bitter about it

That lifeless album still managed to outchart, to outstream your fave's last album with no jockstraps and no videos.

Aged like milk yet does not have a single album track under 50 M, has one with 200M streams and a bunch with more than 100M streams a little over a year later on Spotify and was again last month charting in AM top 10 albums. Yeah, keep lying to yourselves. 

 

Aging like spoiled milk is having ONE single track over 100M because it features a huge Asian female group. Aging like spoiled milk is barely having album tracks with 50M streams... 3 years later. Or having more than half of the album streams coming from the two songs featuring Ariana and Blackpink.

Beyonce is a queen and shes eons above Katy. But it's really impressive how she made the public perceived her as being "the biggest artist" with such lackluster numbers.
