I can't count the number of times one of her song first underperformed and then EXPLODED months later (Levitating, New Rules, Dance The Night...)

Yeah I think they swap leads because she was going to focus on campaigning for Dance the Night, not the Christmas freeze. She’s doing more promo for it than her own lead single atp and as another user has mentioned DTN has low chances of scoring an oscar nomination, so it’s a very weird management choice.
 

DTN was still doing well on radio, so I don’t understand why they didn’t allow the award season promo to pass and the song to die so they could properly launch DL3 and give Houdini a better shot after Training Season. Billie has been doing exactly that. We all know BE3 is done, but she is waiting for the Oscar season to settle so she can start her era.  

 

I know we were all speculating she would’ve debuted it on the EMAs, but now I think Dua would have performed a medley of DTN with a Houdini outro too and the song would never get its fair push. Unfair because it’s a bop and a hit for doing squats

not for me, it comes after 8 songs, aprox. and it has been like this for three weeks now so I don't think it really impacts the charts that much

This topic and these chart-stress looks like just every other Dua single that ended up going back on track. 

 

It's just another normal day as a Dua stan, what we are experiencing. Everything about her charts is incredibly painful and slow, but in the end it always turns out well.
