I've talked about my personal experience. I've already talked to 5 different people that didn't know she had a new song out and they all follow her/likes her/listen to her. another important comment on this, they don't use to listen to spotify/Apple Music playlists.

it's clear that there are a lot of people and they're streaming. maybe what I've been witnessing is that people are not die-hard fan for her so they're not seeking to know news from her, on the other hand it's interesting because Houdini has room to grow as more people become aware of it.

Personal anecdotes are interesting but Data tells the real story

Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” debuts at No. 3 (abracadabra!) on the Global 200, with 51 million streams and 13,000 sold worldwide Nov. 10-16, following its release at 6 p.m. ET Nov. 9. She notches her fourth top 10 – and first top 10 debut – following “Dance the Night” (No. 3 peak, August), “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix),” with Elton John (No. 3, 2022), and “Levitating” (No. 2, 2021).

Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” debuts at No. 5 on Global Excl. U.S. with 39.3 million streams and 6,000 sold outside the U.S. She adds her fifth top 10 on the chart, following “Dance the Night” (No. 3 peak, August), “Cold Heart” (No. 2, 2022) and “Levitating” (No. 3, 2021) and her featured turn on Miley Cyrus’ “Prisoner” (No. 10, 2020).

Funny how ATRL is pretending like this is a global flop when it's already matched the peak of Dance The Night and Cold Heart. Don't fall for the blatant fair-weather success stans bashing this song to be trendy.

hmmm... after one listen: I like it, a great song but.. I don't feel like it will smash. The synths should have entered earlier, and the chorus shouldn't have been so.. "plastic"? Idk, it's too structured and repetitive but not in a good sing-along way. Expected a little better for DL3 lead, should have been more of a euphoric explosion on more than 1 occasion ala We Found Love

:coffee::mandown:

the song grew on me but I fully understand why the GP ain't fully clicking - some cute Top10 debuts WW but we'll see if it has any legs. Kinda sad and hope it will still smash but at this point I'm not sure if it's possible

Side comment: Fever is SUCH AN INCREDIBLE SONG! Anglosphere really missed out on one of the best songs released this decade so far.

This couldve been their "All the things she said" if they played their cards correctly :jonny5: a lesbian anthem tbh
