Shaner69 Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Yeah this is a major bop and the HQ on platforms you can hear all the extras they added to it. The production is top notch. 1

Theluckyone Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Wow this is FANTASTIC. What a way to come back! This is taking her usual style but going way harder into it. I’m sure it’ll be a huge hit once again for dua! 1

Save Your Tears was still big when he released TMB, then he appeared in collaborations almost every 2 weeks that left him overexposed and finally... he didn't promote the actual singles. This is not the case for DL3 I think Abel didn't care at this level, he just releasing music for music, he already broke all the charts so I doubt he care anymore. Dua a pop queen The song is so good 🔥

Comparing Houdini to that does it no favors. Go back and watch Applause, we took it for granted it's true. Applause was soooo explosive and it progressively gets bigger, better and more exciting towards the end. Houdini is still good. However, it's still just coasting through.... 1
ICLDXU4HS Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 (edited) When she first came out I never would’ve thought she would be the one to show range, growth and versatility like that. Legend! Edited November 10, 2023 by ICLDXU4HS 5
_Fey Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Please please please y'all listen to more music besides Lady GaGa 3 6
Shaner69 Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 (edited) I'm getting scared slightly and I don't want to be mean. I think the only reason people are saying it sounds like Fartpop is because this is what they expected. Let's not compare this to that and flood this thread with it. This is a masterpiece for what she was going for and she actually pulled it off. Edited November 10, 2023 by Shaner69 1
DoubleRainbow! Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Yeah, it feels like there's something missing on the first and second verse which makes and it sounds like one of those Euro-dance songs that peak at like #37 in the USA. She keeps delivering and there's growth to her music which is what matters at the end. 1
G.U.Y. Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Why is "Houdini" a vocative on the banner ("Catch me or I go, Houdini")? I thought she means that she's about to go houdini (disappear) - no comma.
IBeMe Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 This will be a huge hit in Europe but I think it will only perform moderate in the US tbh. It doesnt have a very american sound to it 1
xicnx Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Houdini is trending at #27 in the US on X. I don't recall any of Dua's singles released on a Thursday trending on the main chart at X before.
PoisonPill Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 It gets better with each listen, from a 6 to an 8 already. My main issue… that addictive synth hook in the final chorus… why isn’t it throughout the song?? 1
