I wanted to comment that earlier, but I was afraid I’d take the thread in a messy direction, because there are people dying and it’s just dua lipa. But last war around she was dragged to the pits on papers with government sponsored advertising. I wonder if her pro-palestine political position now would harm her comeback, if she happened to be singled out among other celebrities. Harm in the sense of bringing unwanted controversy

At the same though I'm kind of like ''who cares'' because at the end of the day, all we want is new music. If it's good music it'll resonate with people regardless of award show performances or traditional promo. 

The only valid possibility I can think of is that her team has signed something binding with MTV that gives them an exclusive premiere of the single for the EMA's, but even that... Idk. The EMA's have something to gain from that but does Dua? Even if it's in exchange for broader MTV promo throughout the era, who really needs that in 2023? Besides, there's no way they can't escape even a binding clause of any sort if the show was canceled by MTV, at no fault of Dua's... 

 

Maybe the song isn't even delayed, but if it is, it has to be for another reason.

I think what is happening in Gaza is what's affecting Dua to delay dropping new music now. She knows if she drops new music and says nothing, it would look insensitive but if she speaks up, she's at risk of being blacklisted by radio and the media (moreso in North America rather than Europe, South America or Asia)

I think delaying the era a bit right now is actually a good idea.
