I don’t follow Taylor like that, I have seen lashings on Twitter, but I wanted to listen for myself and I’m not impressed. Wildest Dreams seemed fine, couldn’t notice anything off about it

So far

-shake it off is fine

-new romantics horrible

-bad blood horrible

but then you said

Quote

it’s weird everyone’s acting like they’re better than the OGs

Clean is quite literally better than any Katy Perry album cut ever. Circle the Drain is terribly written

I will try to listen to Clean again, I’m pretty sure it bored me the first time I listened to it.

circle the drain has nice production, lyrics are okay, nothing offensive

The critics are acting like it’s the second coming of Jesus, some mutuals on twitter dragging it are in the minority (I don’t follow that many swifties just a handful)

Also the point of these reviews isn’t to do a one-to-one comparison to the original. It’s to take a second look at 1989 and reflect on the era and what it did for not only pop music but Taylor’s career overall.

It’s easier to look at 1989 as an important inflection point of the career of the most successful artist of the 21st century and therefore look at it more fondly and favorably now compared to the initial impressions in 2014.

Trust Taylor to turn sl* t into deep meaningful song. That being said. Say don't go deserved to be lead single.

It is good vault. But i hope she gets rid of jack guy for her next album. End collabs with him, when you  end rerecording process

We know because the new versions suck

But it's always like that with all anniversary releases and stuff like that.

Most of them are literally improved versions and the others are mostly equal in quality apart from severe examples (WANEGBT, Style). Idk what you’re hearing I’m sorry

So how is this getting better reviews than the OG when you admit that some of the the best tracks on the stolen version are worse here?

Because most of the songs are literally improved as are the vocals on every single track…? Which I said in the post you quoted?
