And that's not my problem sweet heart, cause there is not "legitimate global sales source" has the exact detailed of every artists sale data of every music format from 1980 to 2023, even the IFPI. There're all made up. At least CM's data can be lined up with the IFPI yearly Global Artist Chart and the Guinness ranking here most time, so I can't see the problem to use them to explain why Britney is not inside the top 5?

:suburban:

A lack of a valid source doesn't mean we cling to an illegitimate one who has admitted to guessing the majority of their numbers because their stats favor our favorites artists.

Just like I have said, I use them because their data has been proved "close to right" many times cause it was lined up with IFPI yearly global chart, and most importantly, their data lined up the rank of the top five spots here perfectly. So why we can't use it to estimate the remaining top 10? In statistical, we call this dataset  "high degree of confidence". We need to respect the objective fact and science method sis. What's your personal problem with CM?  Do you refuse to use them cause there stats not favor your favs?

It was never proved "close to right." It's confirmation bias because they had access to figures that everyone else did or guessed right. I can tell you're not in statistics if you think that constitutes a high degree of confidence.

CM has my fave as the third best-selling female of all-time. If anything, I should blindly defend them like you do but it's clear that they're incredibly inaccurate and it's foolish to depend on them because no global stan receipts for exist ease-of-access.

Sorry but the list is flawed. Whitney and Céline sold more. Singles do not equal albums.

It's you are bias about it not me. I never "defend" it and I never said it's accurate. The only reason I use it here is its data seems to be fit with the Guinness rank here incredibly well. And it had UVST, Midnights, and Harry's house as their top 3 best selling album of 2022 and so as IFPI. So it's has enough proof that its data has its own value at the very least. And suddenly you showed up to tell us not to trust anything from that site and makes this thread completely off topic.

Maybe you really has your own problem with this site which we all know is not perfectly inaccurate just like the Guinness rank itself . I won't reply you anymore cause this thread is meant to celebrate about these artists not about ChartMaster :suburban:

I hate not seeing britney on this list

The team needs to be in contact for such things plus I think they combine singles and albums together so in terms of record sales I don’t think Britney has sold more than the other 4 ladies! Celine should also be up there.

Yes? People have learned that the website is garbage, it’s not the other people who aren’t able to let this website go. Pointing out false information is not a rant.

Celine is definitely there before Beyonce I would think.

This. Unless they counted Destiny's Child for Beyoncé's sales Celine has sold more records than her. Other than that the list is accurate.

Perfect top 5 :clap3:

Madonna and Mariah have been through a lot, suffered major setbacks, ridiculed for their behavior or physical appearance at some point yet here they are on top. True Queens. I hope Whitney, Celine and Janet are in the top 10 as well.

Rihanna, Beyonce and Taylor are the top female artists of their generation. All three are amazing artists with great discographies. Let’s celebrate them all instead of stan fighting :bird:

Because her sales are pure pure...not double counted.

Guinness use the "record sales", which means the singles sales + pure album sales and they didn't include streams

According to ChartMaster:

Madonna 146m pure albums sales + 64m other LP + 75m physical single + 42m digital single = 327 million

Rihanna: 33m pure albums sales + 1.2m other LP + 3.6m physical single + 257m digital single = 295 million

Mariah: 116m pure albums sales + 31.2m other LP + 37m physical single + 50m digital single = 234.2 million

Taylor: 56.5m pure albums sales + 10.3m other LP + 0.32m physical single + 162m digital single = 229.1 million

Beyonce: 37m pure albums sales + 6m other LP + 4m physical single + 164m digital single = 211 million

Britney: 69.5m pure albums sales + 11.4m other LP + 18.6m physical single + 83.3m digital single = 182.8 million

This makes sense

it is record sales after all.

Although in 20 years when people have had hundreds and hundreds of billions of streams I wonder if people will care about a few hundred million sales.

People are still pressed about my fave.

Rihanna is lucky her best selling metric is also the most easily verifiable one tbrh
