GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 For Danielle Deadwyler to not be nominated was incredibly hurtful and outright embarrassing. 3 1
suburbannature Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Tbh I thought she was a bit inconsistent in that performance but it was a bvery weird snub considering she made every precursor. And the Riseborough "grassroots" campaign was just plain stupid and borderline fraudulent. 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Amy Adams not being nominated for Arrival was actually insane. Especially when if she'd been nominated, she should've WON over Emma Stone for La La Land. Honorable recent memory mention is Toni Collette not being nominated for Hereditary. 11 1

I came to say Amy Adams for Arrival. Her acting is amazing in it. 1
EnigmaticAndroid Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Was gonna say Danielle. Her performance was one for the books and the snub is comically egregious. I will forever maintain that one of the trifecta should've broken away and awarded her. She probably needed at least 1 big during the season to get in and Blanchette didn't need to sweep again. 2 1
EnigmaticAndroid Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Obviously biased, but GaGa getting snubbed for 🐖 was such a scream. The fact that she was looking like the #1 frontrunner going in (only one in category to make every precursor, won a big highbrow prize, led the film to box office success during COVID) and missed for Cruz, who didn't make any precursor, was wild. Happy for Penelope though. And there's the argument that her getting snubbed might actually be a good thing in the big picture so that's a silver lining. 15 6

Likingstars Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Amy in Arrival I just dont get it. She got nominated for worse role and then didnt get anything for the best performance of her entire career??? And Arrival is a box office success with like 10 other noms or something, not like it’s a forgotten small indie something or sth
Johnny Jacobs Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Not the gaga comments The Russian accent was top noch it's true OT: Scarlett Johansson for Lost in Translation and Girl with the Pearl Earring 1 3
D/X Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 (edited) Amy Adams for Arrival, easily. The 2017 Academy should serve 1 year in prison for this trespass. And Andrew Garfield for The Social Network. Where to begin with this one... Edited October 16, 2023 by D/X

They needed that snub. Even now you are getting down voted despite the fact the snub made more noise than the event IJBOL At the time she made all the precursors and was the only woman in the BAFTA rar what was funny is it was kirsten vs. gaga for us and the media and Gaga missed and kirsten got through on the skin of her teeh due to her SAG/BAFTA sn 2 1
jonapova Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Pam Grier and Amy Adams not even getting nominated are the biggest snubs of all time imo

It's giving random Globe moment that went nowhere. Aside from the Blockbuster Awards and MTV thingy. Both of which she lost. 2 1
John Slayne Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Toni Collette in Hereditary Mia Goth in Pearl Lady Gaga in HoG i know y'all don't like Gaga but she was the only actress to hit every precursor that year so yeah that was definitely a snub, if we're being objective. 4 1
