Yea, she technically performed better on the singles charts than the other two. Brandy only eclipsed Mo in album sales.

I would love to see Monica hunker down in a studio with only Missy Elliott (in her executive-producer bag), Tweet, Ravyn Lenae, Miguel, and Luke James, and create an entire album. The best female crate-digger we have in the game, and five songwriting/vocal beasts (4 of which go left-field often) sounds like a recipe for something moody, COHESIVE, and smooth: just what I would look for in a new Monica album.

Definitely the first thing I thought of. Monica came out the gate swinging with hits and was never eclipsed by her peers in that regard. And I’m surprised at some of the commentary regarding her lack of growth or change in sound - I have neeeever thought of Monica as a ballad girl. She’s always rode the beats and been relevant in my world, but I live in Atlanta so maybe the radio here played her more than usual.

 

She came out with DJ Khaled on Beyoncé’s OTR2 tour (I think) and the crowd went nuts. Hate that she feels forgotten.
