Popular Post Rev8 Posted October 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 13, 2023 Quote "Fans don't want to see a rapper walk back and forth with a microphone" That part. In a world where Rap Girls are competing with Pop Girls, Male rappers should deffo step up their game evolve, there is a way to deliver something more interesting than just music - just like every performer does. I stan rappers, but this is a sign that some of them should do more in their performances.. 22
Stepfon Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Cue the performance he did at the BET Awards of Clout when Cardi did Press, the man is a PERFORMER. 12
Devin Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 1. The quality in rap music decrease. 2. People want the hype AND high budget productions. Each rapper has their own style but simple changes can make a big difference. 6

jesus del rey Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 They should take notes from Azealia Banks, its not about walking back and forth but about commanding the stage and the audience and having the BOPS to back it up 4 4
Raiden Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) He's too generalizing. Obviously some do indeed need to bring or more show or dance or else let someone else do that on stage. But if the rapper is like, say, Common, then he don't need to dance. His mature lyrics will keep him relevant. So in that sense rapping is no different from singing (the more simple or superficial the song is, the more show they needs to be around it — but the more harcore the song is addressing a serious issue, the less the singer has to move his or her ass. So if Offset only wants to walk or stroll around on stage then improve your rap skills, period. Something has to impress the crowd, either your words or your performance. AvadaKedavra Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I wonder if were experiencing some sort of music shift to Poppier music or Rockier-Electronic one. Hip Hop dominated all over the 2000s and after 2015. I wonder if we are starting to experience the shift of culture THANKS to the new gen alpha. Or maybe this will be the start of another R&B wave? Im here for more Ushers and The Weekends....NE-Yos. 1
Moloko Plus Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Thank god for that. Nobody tryna see Offset or any of his contemporaries at a music festival. He can be regulated to the hip-hop music festivals no shade. 1 1 1 7
Blue Jeans Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Is mainstream music shifting? Where? I thought most straight men love male rap. Do they want pop bangers instead?

Glad u mentioned this, exactly why I said each rapper (same as any artist) has their own style. Real rappers RAP so a huge pop production isn’t necessary but depending on the artist some small tweaks can boost their stage appeal.
DougAF Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Please I saw Tyler the Creator headline a festival and he put on a SHOW. You just need good music and good energy. Of course these new mumble rappers and talentless losers aren’t gonna get booked. 4
VOSS Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I’d be happy to see someone walk back and forth onstage if I just spent $20 on a ticket. Not if I’m paying 2023 ticket prices tho. 2
Bosque Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Is it about rappers in general or are certain specific artists just no very much in demand?
Antikythera Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 As it should be. Rappers usually go on stage to lip sync and standing still. They dont even right their own material and it is always the same BS about being a criminal, have money and ass. 1 2

favorite crime Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) Eh I don't think it has anything to do with people wanting more big productions from rappers. It's always dependent on the artist. Adele could sell out a stadium tour with a set of just her a piano and some pretty images on a screen behind her. Drake is the epitome of just walking around on stage and he's on one of the biggest rap tours of all time. Rap was just the most dominant genre for over half a decade and now it's in decline so naturally there's less demand for rappers to perform. Country music (at least in the US) is now repeaking and fans are happy to pay hundreds of dollars to watch Morgan Wallen stumble around half drunk of stage and strum a few chords while lip syncing. BOOMBAYAH Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 It’s not even just that. I’ve been to festivals and concerts where the rappers don’t dance/choreo but they’re still energetic and interacting with the crowd. These festivals probably aren’t trying to book them because they arrive 30 minutes late, and do 2 songs, then leave. 2
