R!ck Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Congrats for the #1, Katy! hopefully the Calvin Harris feature song becomes a hit after disappointing Bon Apetit and Swish Swish..
Physical Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 AND THEY SAID SHE WAS OVER. WELL GUESS WHAT SHE DID THAT
Gaia Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) If she picks HHH as the next single this album will fail to cross 300k and the era is officially over. She's choosing all the worst songs lyrically and sonically to be singles and I don't get it. The sales are expecting considering CTTR was released 4 months ago and BA and SS are both underperformed and aren't songs that sell albums. Her best bets are to release Witness/Tsunami/SAD/Miss You More along with a good video and actual decent performances. BA and SS are huge stand outs in the album in a bad way...I still can't believe those were singles. The album art is also hideous. Not to mention everyone hates her hair and current style. And yet...she keeps hinting that HHH might be the next single, refuses to change her style, and keeps promoting that hideous album cover all over instagram. Kats can't save this mess! Time to hope she pull an Ariana/Rihanna and releases an album next year (and hopefully doesn't write the lyrics) But at least she got #1...so I mean one decent thing Edited June 16, 2017 by Kkamjong
TaggedGalaxy Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 This should be a warning to all you stans, never drag an artist for sales because you never know when you will be on the other end of those draggings, kii now Swifties but don't make the same mistake OT: these aren't bad numbers in the current sales climate
Sombre Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 17K with a global Spotify deal, how? Her streaming is absurd but other than that, it's great. I wonder how much came from the bundled tickets but I doubt we'll ever know.

ArianadelRey Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Wait she's the streaming queen, how did she snatch only 17K SPS? Lemme give Swish Swish another spin

That's two songs that are experimental. Hence an album with experimental songs. Hence an experimental album.

You're putting yourself up for future drags and scalping all over again and it happens every damn time Yes Gaga did cute number in Q4 of 2016. If she releases again later this year, she'll be lucky if she has these numbers. Sales are declining more and more each day. I don't see the point of these "drags". This doesn't even make sense. The Cure did 80K in 4 days and 19 hours. Bon Appétit, released the same month, did 17K (?) In 7 days. Monsters and Kats are here trying it obviously ever since 2013. Nothing new or surprising. State of Grace. Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) wait not her only doing 17k SPS units doesn't she have a Spotify deal or smth? not to mention she released 3 singles before - 1989 at #33 though Edited June 16, 2017 by State of Grace.
DatChickDoe Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Y'all need to take a moment to grow up. It is kind of old that people are so obsessed with sales numbers. Katy, Gaga, Taylor, and Ariana all have different groups they target. They are all doing fine when you consider some albums hit # 1 with 50,000 copies now. While you are obsessed with numbers, artists are doing what they love and are passionate about. While you decide if you want the crust on the sandwich your mother makes you. Focus more on your passion and dreams and less on your perception of who is "flopping" . Because in the end, wasting your life obsessing on trivial things is a waste of the gifts you've been given.
Fenrir Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 #1 Tragic streaming numbers though. Hope she can bounce back with her next era.

fossora Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 this is the worst Katy era so far comercially speaking, but it's her best album for sure...ppl need to wake up and give her those streams

GAGA at one point was the biggest star in the world... now she's just apart of the bunch barely beating someone like Katy Perry. You're defending GAGA against Katy perry. Yikes what went wrong? She had two of the biggest hits in 2013/14 both with 2B+ views, one was #1 Yearend on Pop radio and #2 on Hot 100 Year end and you're acting as if she's some unknown
Sombre Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 2 hours ago, SilencePlease said: $3.99 upon release. You're literally laughing at 24h $4 deal on the MP3 standard version by Amazon Prime Music when Katy gave the CD DISC album for free lol. I mean, be consistent sometimes sis. More on topic tho, SZA pulled through omg 55K is amazing!
