The past couple months have been just a free for all dragging of her, so for her to still be able to get these numbers, I'm impressed. This is looking like her flop era, which will hopefully lead to a nice comeback era for her 5th album. "Woke" think piece writers will hopefully get their heads out of their asses by then, and stop attacking her for stupid reasons.

Chanel Oberlin Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 the last few pages have been such a mess like y'all really doing the most anyway, given Katy's age and the weird af illuminati album cover, this was expected. truly her ARTPOP era. alienated herself from the GP. and yeah the album lacked bops and I'm a stan. my reaction to Witness is the same as with ARTPOP. anyway, good to see her debut at #1 tho! and nice numbers for SZA's CTRL. really enjoyed the album!

If you are a fan and want to buy the album you do that. GP doesn't have much to do with first week sales mostly. Maybe Katy is different. Could be. Second: I'm really not sure what scrutiny exactly you are talking about. Wasn't CTTR liked for it's message?

StephenNYMonster Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Eh... She didn't fall by much due to the tour bundling, which was a smart idea to get her hardcore fans to buy the album sooner. The second week is going to a mess though. And why are people comparing Gaga to Katy? True they sold similarly to each other first week, but Gaga's album had legs and has attributed to her image being looked at more positively while the opposite will be done to Katy for this album. On top of this, Gaga has a sold-out world STADIUM tour she is doing in August. Something certain artists can't do with higher streams and sales. Lets not do it tonight.
