Have followed her latter career extensively. RCA has not been vested in any of her projects in a "MPG" capacity since Bionic. You could argue Lotus too, but she herself messed that up with her level of disinterest and sloppy presentation. With Liberation, they were "at best" going for album sales and seemed to have no interest in netting her a hit single. Dumb af in this streaming-led market that can have one hit song uphold the performance of its connected album. This was clear in how they kept dropping her Liberation singles on Wednesdays! Middle of the f**king tracking week. From Accelerate to Fall In Line. Even if the songs were gonna flop, halving their chart prospects by dropping in the middle of the tracking week makes no sense. I see it often with acts labels don't deem commercial. A fresh label hungry to captialize on her established icon status and eager to execute the "comeback" story everyone loves so much (e.g. Tina Turner, Mimi, J.Lo even with On The Floor) would at least show us the upper limit of what Xtina is capable of in today's climate. With RCA, each era post Bionic has literally gone: a maximum of 1 properly serviced single, two music videos if lucky, zero attempts at establishing success on A/C or alternate formats (which could be her calling card at this stage of her career), no varied physical formats (for her obviously older leaning audience), and no attempts at leveraging the star players on their roster for mutually beneficial collabs (like Doja etc). Beyond the above being so annoying as a fan, it's literally everything I could see a new label doing should they snag her. I get the sense RCA/Sony may have her on some kind of "last-of-its-kind" legacy deal, one that possibly isn't a dreaded 360 deal. So, while she won't get the bells and whistles, it's essentially a safe space because it at least lets her keep the coins she so easily makes outside of her recording career. This seems to be exactly the predicament Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson seemed stuck in for a while before they eventually left. And also seems to be the situation Pink is currently in with RCA. Xtina and similar either need to cut their losses and go indie or launch their own labels and simply use the Sony's, Universal's and co for distribution/label services. The latter seems to be what's happening for them now anyway, so they may as well formalize it. Because the current setup essentially limits any real excitement I can let myself have around her new music. Because I hate to see good music and concepts go to waste because of a clear lack of investment by the label releasing it (which is exactly what happened with Liberation).. The Latin project, though botched by the time of its physical release, seemed really robust, creative, plentiful musically + visually, and overall was well-thought-out. It was Sony Latin, not RCA. So, that figures. I'd love for something similar for this new English project. Edited October 10, 2023 by Cbreezy 4

She needs a label to not only believe in her but also push her to have drive. I think RCA lets her do what she wants & in return they don’t have to financially invest in her projects. You have a artist like Xtina go on a 6 year break after she received the biggest hit she’s gotten in years will always be a head scratcher on top of finally returning to the music scene with a lackluster era. If she starts the year with a new label it would for sure bring respark interest. 1
